Think of the Zorgons from Zathura, going from world to world looking for stuff to burn.
    Similar concept. Bigger scale.

The core of many worlds could use some variance. Metallic/solid (stone) cores. Aquatic cores. Acidic cores. Fleshy core. Lava is just the default core. I don't doubt there will be more core types in the future. Heck, I'd like to see a world that was a thin sheet of surface ice and we could take a swim 3/4ths of the way to the planet's solid core, complete with monsters appropriate to that environment. For example... angler fish.

Heck, I dug into the molten layer hoping that I could go far enough down to find myself inside a massive cavern. Little disappointed the screen just stopped panning.

Then i think you'd have to have planets with solid 'cold' cores with rubbish biospheres, and molten core planets being the habitable ones.

Some would argue that there is nothing more "science fiction" than religious belief. Dr. Who met several beings claiming to be a god or THE devil. Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Religion are not at all mutually exclusive. :D

many people BELIEVE...this does not mean that if we dig the earth we will find it :p

Would be nice to have a Gears of War esque theme on some planets. Maybe you use the drill pods they had to get past some kind of magma/obsidian layer to a much stronger enemy biome near the core. With lots of goodies and decorations.

I would LOVE to see a Morlockian race of beasties that live near the core on some planets, firebreathing acidy-skinned race of rat bastards they'd be, and would protect their coveted spoils with a terrored rage!

Just because they are sentient plat people, doesn't mean that they are fantasy. The same for the sentient penguins. And on the subject of the weapons that shoot out things, I would think you could just count the weapons as being so advanced that they seem like fantasy/magic/etc.

In fantasy games, magic is just a general manipulation of some form of energy that they never really flesh out so it could be considered sci-fi. The different races in the fantasy games could be also considered sci-fi to some extent, not in that they are aliens, but maybe sub species of humans/humanoids/what not.

How am I to roleplay Spike from Cowboy Bebop with a "hell" in game. Though there was a few weird elements in the series.

All I know is that if we can have penguins flying spaceships, we can most certainly have a Heaven and a Hell in this game. And explain it just as science fictionally as we can explain said penguin flying spaceship.

At least in current version underground is completely incomplete, there is nothing attention-worthy apart from more precious ores. Of course, eventually they may add some secret fun stuff, like ancient ruins, or some facilities... still, there's plenty of time before that!

Heaven and Hell are a figurative of speech.
I'm pretty sure when churches preach about them they don't literally believe there's a place full of demons and lava and stuff, etc. It's like telling kids that if they don't eat their spinach the Boogey Man will get you...cause unless there's a ton of sick parents who actually mean that kids who don't eat veggies get kidnapped...

Also...the "Hell" layer is Terraria, or Minecraft but Minecraft's was explained via a portal system not it just being really deep. I've heard that some planets might have a frozen core, or perhaps giant cave systems, but there is no "Hell" layer.

We are still allowed to expect some infernal bottom areas, like lava cores with magma-made Po analogues or other fireproof beasties.

See, this is why I've been saying we need a few worlds specifically designed with a purpose, because it would be cool to have a pair of Hell and Heaven planets with thematically fitting structures and aliens. Just throw 'em out there orbiting the same star, somewhere out in the cosmos for someone to stumble upon by chance.

That's the kicker and ultimately the only true fact about science in and of itself: We don't factually know if there is a Heaven and Hell because we don't factually know much of anything about the universe/multiverse that we live in, much less what's even in it.
