The Thread of Randomness

I only wear them when mining deep down in Skull Cavern. I like the Dark Boots personally, it has pretty good stats and it fits most of my outfits. I wish it wasn't made of leather, but oh well it's just pixels.

 

It's been two weeks since I've played SDV. I feel so... wrong.

I miss my happy place!

 

Thinking of using some mods to change the buildings and animals. The only thing that stops me is that it's an 'all or nothing' action. If I want it for one farm, it does it on all.
Decisions decisions....

 

Make multiple Content folders and just swap them out as needed? I did this when I visited my mom - we both play but I use mods that would mess up her farm, so I just brought a copy of my Content folder and we switched them out each time we played.

 

Yanno, I started over a new game, not for any challenges or anything, but simply for playing it again, in preparation for the Multiplayer update and whatever else it might do.

It was kind of a casual type game. I wasn't really rushing anything.

I hit 1 million, unlocked the entire Community Center (I actually got a red cabbage seed, and ran it through the greenhouse), and got a Junimo Hut. Plus 30 Pomegranate trees fully grown and even the start of 15 ancient fruit growing. I also had most of the eligible ladies up to 10 hearts, except Maru. Unlocked the Casino. Had 120 kegs, 120 aging casks, and 90 preserves jars.

All before the end of my first year.

I... may have a problem. I can't not optimize my game play.

 

I don't know how this is even possible, just for the hardwood requirements alone, without some sort of 'help' mechanism.

 

There must be a lot of people with a booze or candy hangovers today. The streets were quite empty on the drive in to work today. haha

 

That's the easiest. I use the Forest farm, so I have eight stumps that regrow daily on my farm that only needs the copper axe to chop, you don't need steel axe to get into the forest.

Besides, even without that, the hardwood is pathetically easy to get by the end of the year, even without that. Just hit up the secret forest daily and you'll have it in no time. Heck, that's how I got 10 foraging so rapidly, the stumps are 25 foraging xp each.

I feel like getting some more copies just so I can give them out as gifts to whoever pleases me at any given time.

 

Have I ever mentioned how awesome it is that farm animals on the river farm can cross bridges? Super cute. Good work, CA! I genuinely love this.

Have I ever mentioned how farm animals can cross ALL the bridges on the river farm? The river farm, where the upper and lower exits are bridges? Yeah. So that happened.

 

So... Your animals left your farm? What happened then? Could you see them outside the farm or did they just disappear? Did they come home for nighttime?
Now I'm kinda curious about that!

 

It was kinda my fault. I didn't shoo the bunny away from the exit bridge because I wanted to see if he could swim there. But instead of getting the water, he tromped right over the bridge and off the map. I didn't see him in the area around Marnie's house, which seems like the farthest he could have walked before I got there. He teleported back to the coop at around 9pm. (This was after I waited by the bridge from 4-6 hoping he'd walk home. Then I spent 3 hours walking in and out of the coop trying to trigger the teleport. Ugg.)

I wonder what happened to him when he left. I've heard that slimes can leave the farm and live out their days in other areas of the game. Did my bunny have a forest adventure without me?

Slimes can be anywhere, yes, but it looks like the farm animals are stuck on the farm. Well, now we know that, no buggy way to get our animals off the farm to keep them properly free range

 

I was driving to a job today and came across this place tucked away in the Appalachian mountains. Tried to get a better picture but getting out and snapping photos of people’s property is sort of risky in some areas.

 

I wish I'd have gotten a screenshot, the travelling cart's little dialog in the upper left said like "I've got a little bit of everything, take a look." and all of the visible slots were just cave carrots. Also Pam once found a battery in the drawer and sent it to me, on the same day that she asked for me to bring her one for her TV remote. I'm sorry Pam, but that all takes just a bit more effort than getting up and changing the channel.

 

I had something similar happen to me once. Apparently that day she was determined to sell tulips to me, because she had four individual slots with tulips in them (all at different prices), and her dialogue being 'I've got just what you need: Tulip!' (If I'm remembering correctly- I took pictures, but because I play the Switch version, I don't have access to them at the moment or the ability to upload them.)

I didn't end up buying any, though I enjoyed the moment while it lasted.

 

Another fun thing to see is Evelyn getting all grumpy while she stomps on a daffodil that's in her way.

 

They're all fine when they're in her planter boxes and gardens, but wild daffodils??? Outta my way!!! haha
