The Glitch speech pattern is similar to HK-47 in Star Wars KOTOR game.. It only lacks the constant use of the term "meatbags"..

Personally, I get the feeling that the Glitch line, "Soulless. Exterminate. Exterminate." (When they follow you in a village if you have a weapon drawn), might be a Doctor Who reference. At least the exterminate part.

 

I had something similar on my first Glitch the name to appear in the box was "Robobot" I assumed it to be a possible reference to Robo Cop.

 

Nobody has made comment that as a glitch, when you get hit you beep like R2-D2.

<spoilers> - The Peanut Butter Trap is a reference to a Spongebob Episode involving "Sea Nut Butter" and Jellyfish. The episode uses a seanut butter and jellyfish jelly sandwich.

 

I had a feeling cycling through the human hairs that there was a distinct Dr.Who vibe, I should have checked to see if they matched up. Well spotted sir.

 

Too bad the boss doesn't have a crown and a cape, like the King Jellyfish. (Loser. Loser. Loser.)

 

The Snow Infantry set looks like the clothes that Luke work on Hoth in the beginning of "The Empire Strikes Back" http://starbounder.org/Snow_Infantry_Set

 

The human starter weapon is "Broken Hero Sword" which was one of the endgame drops from Terraria.

 

Everyone's forgetting!!! The MorphBall tech is a reference to the Metroid games!
-also can we forget that Metroid other M ever happened?-

 

Also, the "Hard Hat" (yellow construction hat) is very clearly a reference to Ernest Goes To Camp

 

Other M? What's that? Is that that shoddy rip-off of metroid that people tried to pass off as a good game?

On-topic, there's a book named "The Iron Avian" that's basically about Iron Man as an avian.
