I'd buy a Numi! Say, if the Collectible Figurines mod are used there, it might use a bigger Leeven shopping complex to show them all.
Well, at the moment, I'm not thinking about other mods, as I want to keep it as "clean" as possible. However, I may have a look to understand better what you mean.
I feel like the tiles between the water and section people actually sit in should be wood-slat windows... for the steam to come up through. You could also paint stones brown...
Here is a merchant who trades in and with wine, and another who makes his money with pottery - both connected by a bridge which corsses an artificial canal.
I do, sometimes. have a look at the "double-building" - I used Glitch torches at the outer walls, but normal torches at the would structure with the dining table. I also thought that normal torches would fit better for the Leeven chapel you see above.
A suggestion for the canal... It kinda looks more like a pool than a waterway leading into the distance. You might be able to fake the "receding into the distance" look with a few tricks. Like... carve out a sliver in the top-middle, and put glass blocks in the backdrop there. Then look through all your stored dirt and then fill around the glass sliver, with darker dirt towards the center gradiating to lighter dirt towards the edges of the canal. The blue water should cover some of the color difference (depending on dirt used), and the darker inner section gives it a look of "further away from the camera so less light". Or just mostly use glassblock backing. With the water, it should hide the glass "sheen" effect, especially once the new water effect we've seen in recent screen shots has been implemented.
I try to do my best Here is another house, which I build back on San Geronimo. Some details were changed, especially the furniture.
That's really cool, it combines lots of different cultures but doesn't look patchy or like that was the purpose. Lots of plants, lots of regal stuff, lots of avian stuff, and the garden is a nice touch, makes it feel like the plant stand's food was grown straight from there xD.
