Baby dragon for alicorn? As for the 3 core races, we can look at what the main 6 have. Dog/Alligator for earth pony (default dog actually works well, but I can understand wanting a custom pet if every other race gets one). Unicorn had owl/fluffy cat, I could care less for either one, and the owl might be a pain in the rear. And Pegasus had bunny/turtle (hrm, I mean tortoise), but giving them the common bunny critter is lame, and the tortoise might be weird running around the ship. Bat ponies are an enigma, but a fruitbat/vampire fruitbat would work as well as the owl would for unicorn, but the opossum angle could work depending on how much we want to stick them in with Luna.

(My personal vote would go for a crystal ewe for pegasus, because they're cute, would be easy to alt color, are fluffy like a cloud, and they don't fit anywhere else (except maybe alicorn), so we'd need to stick 'em somewhere to have them at all.)

 

hmm....you know the spike ball tech? how hard would it be to make a changeling version of the flight tech that allows wall and ceiling crawling as well?
have it use energy when moving, but recharge when standing still, and it shouldnt be THAT op...

 

Can you still summon the Pony Bots, or are they currently inaccessible?

 

I don't think I've added them back yet, I haven't tested them yet either so maybe in tonight's update.

I know you have a heavy load of work with this Mod C0bra5, but there is another little Idea that came me as I looked on the Loading Screen from Starbound.
Before 1.0 there was this animation with the three animals and now there is this little spinning object in the right down corner.

The Idea is simple: Replace this Loading Icon with a walking Pony "Shadow" that change its Colors all few seconds... or a walking Pinkie Pie Animation (a pink Shadow thing)
I think you all know what I mean. ^^

This with the modified Mane... I mean Main Menu like I posted before, would bring some interesting Extras to the Mod. ^^

But thats for the Time, the Mod is on a good functional Level. ;-)

 

Sounds like the pony mod for Fallout 4, you have a choice between a walking pony or Pinkie from the Poison Joke episode during the loading screens. It's probably doable as long as the loading screens are modifiable, should be done last though.

 

I suggest not overwriting as many Starbound/Chucklefish things as possible with pony things. We should be conscience of other people that might have to download the pack only to play on a server and don't want TONS of pony at every corner, or of people that like the normal stuff, or want to overwrite the things with other mods (that maybe in turn overwritten by this mod). The Elements of Harmony randomly dropping for my novakid was actually pretty jarring, and that kind of random drop is actually something I'm okay with doing.

 

I'm telling you. I can do it. We can do it. I have no shortage of volunteers to help me, but I currently have no time to delve into coding. I suppose I could provide the text if you can give me original one in human-readable form and integrate my results into the game afterwards. What do you think?

A solution for this would be making things modular. This way one can throw in as many ponies as one wants (and not a pony more).

 

Eh, I'm seeing it as more of an "addon", not necessarily a part of the modpack itself. Heck, if I knew how to mod the game, I'd just do it myself. I wouldn't even need make the pixel art, just find a template of a walking pony (there's only nine million of them), wipe it clean and make it all one color. Maybe if I get the time I'll look into to it, or at least make the template.

C0bra5, found an interesting bug:

When you get a pony that wants to join your crew, they get the standard protectorate uniform, like so:


Does anyone know of a mod out there that would let me set the uniform per recruited character?
Or do I need just recruit all ponies, then change their uniform to match my pony character's using a Tailor?

Also, on the latter, does anyone know what pony items are considered tagged as racial for ponies, so I could be guaranteed to get pony colonists when I drop a deed down?
