Just a nitpick, but I really hope we can have something other than the vacuum tube limbs. I don't supposed it would matter much with armor covering it, but in my opinion it looks a little goofy. We already have another thread (or several? :p) on robot customization options, but I should really hope that you have options that really make the appearance range from retro, to steampunk, to ultra-modern...
Perhaps shirt, pants, hair and beard will pertain to permanent appearance options? As we know, other races can undress (as we've seen as they all change to go swimming in the water demo) though robots being..well..robots..I doubt they necessarily wear clothes.

I could imagine a robot wearing clothes to customize themselves a little more than the normal. I could even imagine them wearing wigs as well, as fully unlikely as it would probably turn out to be. Just because they are robots, doesn't necessarily mean they can't have interesting character.

... now I want a robot with an afro and disco suit. Disco Fevah, yo!

  4. afaik the only sprite-changing factors you can change are the "hairstyle", "personality" and "gender". I have yet to see one that actually changes the entire body.

I'm sure the robot you see in the image is in its "naked" state. Hopefully.

Hrm...if it wasn't though, the aforementioned customization options could be what "Clothes" essentially are for robots...Ie vacuum tube arms are a undershirt.

And there's a naked robot watching you sleep.

Am I the only one who didn't see the robot?

    EDIT: Nevermind, found it

Normally the robot race is riding their assault mechs anyway so you don't notice their arms.

Why wouldn't robots wear clothes and armor ? Megaman X wears and armor above his very own armor which could pretty well be over another armor... He wears his Ultimate armor over his usual armor somehow. Also, well, clothes would certainly be usefull for a robot as well to avoid dust and other stuff to enter their bodies and mess them up from the inside. Robots just are cool with clothes and armors at my opinion. ^^

No reason they can't wear clothes, but likewise I could see both as being an option, like undershirt being for your arm/chest type and overshirt being a clothing option.

  15. Clothing on robots is certainly an interesting idea, is it not?

The standard "clothes" of the biological creatures is not applicable to robots, seeing as they don't actually have a need for these articles of cloth. So I guess it's for protection and decoration (vanity!). Of course, it all depends on the robot backstory. Do want.

Well, robots can change their armor plating, as well as adding more parts to themselves, so they're not THAT dull.

  17. Come to think of it, they have more customization options.

I mean, what other race can install a missile pod in their shoulder? Along with lasers and bombs and whatnot.
