It's raining. A heavy drizzle spatters the cobbles, as you stand outside on the street staring at the venue you were just turned away from. You had really wanted to see the performance. The band is supposedly really amazing live...but they were sold out. So you're out here instead, in the back alley, watching the backstage door, hoping maybe, just maybe, you can catch one of them on their way out. You glance at your watch in slight disappointment...the show's probably nearing intermission now...

And with that, the backstage door opens. You look up, puzzled, and out comes...wait isn't that the courier from the other day? With the mysterious pamphlet? He's got the right build...really really buff, ripped even. And he's a novakid. Too fast to see the brand, but he growls as he bumps into you. "Outta my way, kid." And with that, he's gone, and you are left equally puzzled and bored as before...also a little damper. He'd knocked you into a puddle.

    Inside...well...

The glitch carries its guitar slung over its shoulder. A nice rock guitar. The crowd is still cheering, and it can hear them quite well, even from all the way back here. It's been a smash success of a concert so far. A great gig. Pleased. It is pleased. Its white eyes shine brightly, as it reaches its door. The one with the bright gold star on it. The nameplate currently holds a name... 4-AN-3R. A stage name, obviously. For the fans. It remembers its first concert well...Not that that matters. Oh there's a paper taped to the door. Bored. It pulls the paper off, and balls it up, walking in, and grabbing a glass to fill with water, tossing the paper into the trash. Didn't even see the triple seven printed in the corner. The fancy font. The black wax seal on the black paper. None of it. And it fills the glass of water, and begins pouring it into its mouth apparatus. It needs to cool down, and it looks up at the walls to admire the various posters of itself that adorn the walls while it is here.

Smash. The glass hits the floor, as it sees, not its face looking back...but more of the papers, like the one it balled up and threw away, staring down at it. Each with their own wax seal, like the other. Every square inch of the walls are covered meticulously by them, and it hurriedly snatches one off the wall to read it...

"You are cordially invited..." It begins, and it slowly reads through the whole thing before sighing. Annoyed. Now it is annoyed. Whatever. It can still finish the tour at least. Plenty of time...it goes back to thinking about the concert. The first concert. It'd been like today...drizzling...

Next day. You didn't end up getting an autograph. The band had just kind of rushed out, and gone straight to their hovercars and driven off. You're enjoying today though, the air is crisp, clear, and there's a light chill, which your flippers do rather like. You fancy a coffee, so you get in line behind a rather...flashily dressed hotel desk manager. Or at least you assume so. He's got blond hair, thrown back into a style reminiscent of those historical human musicians. What were their names? Roy Presley and Elvis Orbison, right? Doesn't matter. Got bell bottoms on...who wears those now? And a nametag. You squint but can't catch the name. But whatever the hotel is, it's called ZZZ or something. Maybe 777? Didn't catch it. His turn is about to come up, and he suddenly winces, grabbing at his ear, and applying pressure to it.

"You know I hate how this answers automatically. What's up, mate?" He starts sliding out of line, anticipating that this will take some time, or perhaps keeping it private? Either way, you soon have your coffee in a flipper and are proceeding down the street back with it. The man emerges from an alley rubbing his ear and talking still to thin air, or whatever. "Look I'll do it, I'll do it. I just don't like it, okay. I signed on, and I want..." He sees you here and grimaces. "Well you know what I want." There's some more talking on the other end of the line, and he looks miserable for a moment or two longer, before nodding, and starting to walk off, ignoring the coffee stand.

As you keep walking, you are less interested in why he was unhappy, and more on his accent. Britain, or Australia? You aren't sure...Humans just talk too much in general anyway.

You do however, look around town trying to find that hotel, or whatever...but nothing with a 777 turns up, it having dawned on you that the fliers must be for where he works. But you are dismayed to find no signs on the subject. Maybe you can ask around at the bar later this week. Barkeeps know everything.

Back at your ship finally. You'll be leaving the city now...just as soon as the workpeople get off of it. You wave a flipper angrily at the one at the top of it. They were supposed to finish yesterday! To your shock and horror, the worker falls, screaming as they go down and hit the ground a few feet away from you. You whistle for help, and waddle over to see if they're okay...but she immediately springs up. A youthful novakid, pale blue without a brand... What was she doing up there? She scampers for her toolchest (you notice one of those fliers in it again...), and then leaves in a hurry. You shrug it off...time to go.

The barkeep hadn't been helpful last night...just joked about gambling. That's all the 777 meant to him. Jackpot. You consider going to New Vegas, but discount it. You have a tight budget. Now is not the time to gamble.

You won't make it to your destination. Instead, your ship will blow up as soon as you're out of range of the planet. Quite a spectacular spectacle. Cleaned up before authorities can find it. And somewhere, someone will give a nod of satisfaction as they receive this news. One potential danger gone.

Yet another planet, this one a good distance away. You'd likely have to refuel at least once to even consider getting here from the last planet. It's also a few days later. It's foggy, but you can see the lights of the planet's authorities piercing the fog. Several trooper cars are parked here, at this house. The officer in charge of the raid, and the arrest is standing outside, shivering. His first murder, and it was a horrible mess. At least the list of subjects was short. Just one. She's inside, about to be escorted out. Some apex who'd been renting the place, Nadia Vetch. The neighbors had called in the report of gunshots after hearing yet another fight. Apparently she argued with the deceased a lot...definitely not a point in her favor. The officer swallows, and then notices a man walking out of the fog. Blond hair, green eyes, his hair reminds him of a bouffant, perhaps? But he can't be here, not now, this is none of his business, and he moves to intercept the man, only to have a badge flashed in his face. "District Attorney Zeitgeist, and special agent to the Galactic Authorities. I have special clearance."

Of course he had to let him through. What else could he do, no arguing with that lot. It wouldn't be for about half an hour that he would go inside and find both the man and the suspect gone, the officers who had been guarding her duct taped to chairs...they didn't remember the DA doing anything, it had all seemed to be Nadia's doing. It wouldn't be for another further hour before a warrant and search information would be launched for the two of them. An hour too late.

The four burglars line up outside. All under 4 feet. Precision, almost military in how it's applied...and wait...

    ...

And then the door bursts open inwards, and the four penguins - all suave, but one especially so, perhaps due to its unique coloring - dart and roll in. With efficiency and grace they move through the complex, causing no conflict with the guards, instead avoiding them, and the security cameras...

Until they reach the room above the vault. The uniquely colored one - purple and green - helps cut a hole in the floor into the vault, before being lowered in slowly by a rope. Once it is inside...it realizes the target is not in its case. Instead, a ticket, with sparse information on it. A number. 777. A name, Nickle, which belongs to the penguin. And four letters. DaZe. It snatches the ticket, and the four penguins move efficiently to clean up and clear out...the other three learn nothing of the ticket, and will likely remain in the dark about it permanently. They have no business with it.

Signups for TPS 16! Here's a few things you should know before signing up:
    • It will be a fast-paced game. 24h Days, 12h Nights.
    • If you're sure about what you're doing, you can submit Night actions early, before the Night begins.
    • Activity rules: you must vote every day and tell what you do with your possible action every Night (even if you don't use it). If you miss three of these, you will be removed from the game.
It's not terribly hard to keep up with these rules, since this game will be short and fast. I expect the game last less than a week. (The last game, XV, would've lasted 8,5 days with these rules. Besides that doesn't count the days and nights that end early.)
If people don't want to follow these rules, I'm willing to reconsider, but there are other games coming, so I'd prefer a quick one.

good luck, and may everybody get the role they want, or at least roles they like.

I'm scared I may act a little too shady for mafia.
also, where can I find the backstory stuff(ex; in the last syndicate we were at a resort)

There's not really that much backstory behind each game of TPS. You can check the first post of this thread for Game History. There are the game intros at least.

The Penguin Games, Alkanthe's game series, has way more story than TPS though. Those are too in the game history below TPS... Although I don't think the latest one is included. There's a link to the game thread there though.
