RELEASED The Orcana

    This is my first time i have ever writen a review but down to business. I love the ship but i am curious what was your inspiration for the completed star ship for the orcana i was guessing the nautilus with some Atlantian design as well as greek thrown into the mix sorry just dyeing to pick your brain cause i simply adore it. Please never stop with this mod and never stop updating because this mod is so beautiful it makes me want to cry it feels so natural and the fact that your race is at the outpost makes them even more naturally apart of star bound then any mod i have see to date and i am including the Viera in that. I can not wait to see what you decide to add to the mod in the future. i love the greek, atlantis theme going on it is simply beautiful it feels so immersive i think star bound should make this an official race with the way it is going i sure as heck would and by the way i love how you worked the tridents did you maker them yourself? if so they are marvelous any way i apologize for rambling i just adore this mod so much you are awesome never let negative reviews get you down because as far as i am concerned this is an absolute masterpiece! take care and stay in good health never stress to get an update out i don't know about anyone else but i will always wait patiently for the next update so no rush cause this mod is defiantly worth it

    No, the Orcana are in no way related to the Hylotl. They are their own distinct species.

    I have to apologize, sylena. I completely failed to answer your questions earlier. The inspiration for the Orcana ship was indeed the Nautilus from Atlantis. I did include quite a bit of my own flair and made alterations so that it would work well in the game, but I'm happy with it overall. As for the tridents, I did do all of the sprite work for them, but as far as the new mechanics go that is all stuff that Chucklefish included with their combat update. I just implemented a few of those features into the higher tier tridents.

    Again, thank you for your interest and encouragement. I'm currently working on the rest of the boltguns. If any of you have any input on those I would love to hear what you think.

    i have a little bug with the mod:when i launch the game qith the mod file in extended character création mod i have this message when the game crash: Fatal Exception caught: (StarException) An error occured during loading: (ObjectException) Error loading object '/orcana/objects/ship/orcanashipdoor/orcanashipdoor.object': (AssetException) Error loading asset /objects/wired/door/orcanalitdoor.animation... can you help me?

    That's strange. I'm error free on my end. Have you tried deleting the mod and redownloading the latest version? If so, try removing all mods except for your character selection mod and the Orcana and see if it still happens. There may be a conflict somewhere with another mod. If that's the case you would then have to reintroduce each of your other mods one at a time and check for errors after installing each one. Let me know how it goes.

    Fun fact and an interesting one to keep in mind making this mod; Atlantis was a world wide known civilization (Greece, Rome, Myan, Chinese, Egyptian... ) albeit by different names (Utopia, atlantis, eldorado...) they were master metal workers and people came from around the globe, until it disapeared (legend says the gods were jelous) Anyway if you have questions just ask, Have fun ;)

    I've had the mod for a few days now, and all of a sudden my ship is just...empty. The inside background (the areas you can paint specifically) is just dirt block, and the teleporter and chair are gone (as well as the screen with S.A.I.L. and the ship locker). My pet is gone, too. The only things still there are the ship lights and windows. xwx I tried quitting and then coming back on but nothing changed. I don't know if this is the place to tell you, so I'm sorry if it isn't. >u>; @Nemasys

    Sorry this is response is so late. It sounds like your shipworld file got borked somehow. I would recommend transferring anything you have in your ship that you don't want to lose (including stuff in your locker) into your inventory, then porting down to a planet and saving your game. Exit Starbound and then delete your shipworld file. When you restart the game, Starbound will generate a new shipworld for you. Transfer all of your stuff back into your new ship and you should be good to go.

    HAPPY LEAP DAY!!!

    It's been a whole year since I first unleashed the Orcana into the Starbound universe, and as of today the total download count has broken the 4000 mark! Thank you for the interest you have all shown towards this little side project of mine. I just wish I was able to reward you with more frequent updates. There's still tons of stuff I want to add.

    There is, however, something that's been knocking around in my head for a little while now that I hope might interest at least some of you. As some of you are likely aware, one major addition I'd like to include is Orcana cities and villages (and possibly micro-dungeons). In order to make these locations a reality I need to come up with some really good building designs. So, my idea is this. I would like to propose a contest of sorts in the hopes of generating some awesome ideas as well as giving you guys an opportunity to be a part of Orcana development.

    For all you builders out there, make an Orcana structure - anything from a humble little house to a grand library. The best designs will be included in the mod as part of Orcana civilization. Those who's designs are selected will also be recognized in-game through a custom Orcana codex entry. As a special reward, those who blow me away with their amazing building skills and understanding of Orcana (Ancient Roman / Atlantean) architecture by submitting two structures that I decide to use will not only get the codex entry, but they will also get a portrait of an Orcana character of their design* placed in one of their buildings as a custom decorative item with custom descriptive and inspect text. (*Character designed by winner - portrait created by me)

    Keep in mind that Orcana cities and villages will be under water, but the inside of the structures are dry. So keep that in mind when designing methods of entry. The villages will be home to the more humble artisans and everyday citizens while the cities will be a bit nicer and fancier with scholars and philosophers and the like. I plan on making new materials for these structures. Villages will make use of compressed coral blocks for the main building material and cities will incorporate marble and bioluminescent strips (similar to the ones on the ship). I plan on including the slight bioluminescent glow to a number of decorations, furniture pieces as well. This way even the villages will reflect that aspect of design. For now though feel free to use whatever is lying around to make your builds keeping in mind that while the design itself might get used their final materials will likely change.

    Feel free to submit your builds here if you like, or directly to me via PM if you prefer. Do a little research and give it some thought, but most of all have fun. I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with.
