I can't get myself to start thinking intelligently, because that shit's well out the window. And in the span of me writing this post, I bet more messages have been typed up responding to this. I'm just fucking sick and tired of people complaining about the random of the thread now.
THE THREAD IS MEANT FOR FUCKING OFF TOPIC. When people are unhappy, I try to lighten the goddamn mood. I don't like people being upset. I don't like people getting pissy. I don't like I don't like I don't like. There's a lot of shit I don't like.

You all do your quit-or-split pacts. I'll just stand over here and read the thread on my off time, respond to the occasional silly thing with a (admittedly poorly) witty remark, crack a joke every now and then, try to make sense to some actual piece of discussion, probably not bother with seriously paying attention to posts with a high amount of *asterisk actions*, await the next blue moon that Ryu posts something here that will make us all look like doofuses, try to make sense of all the feels people bring here (and fail spectacularly), see if there's anything I can do to help about it that would be more concrete than "hope everything's alright", and, most importantly, I'll remember that the reason that I come here is to see what people have to say to each other about things (whatever they might be), sometimes bring something onto the table along everybody else, and then, after all that, I'll remember that this is literally a page about a mod on a website about a game where people around the world can send bits of data to communicate towards each other, and not some sort of magical phenomenon of mental slavery.

And then doodle a little doodle to see if I can put a smile on someone's face.

So. Everybody has gotten their "epiphanies" and their "getting off chest" moments, and all of those nice emotiony things.
How about we just stop being so ever-reactionary about the thread as if it was something genuinely serious and just, you know, have a thread?

You can't be held responsible for the actions of another. This has been a long time coming Surge, even before the first thread was frozen and split. It was time we addressed the issue. If it hadn't been now, it would have been later, some other post setting this off. The issue has been addressed now, if anything I want to thank you for lighting the spark. Best to kill the issue now before it spreads like a cancer.

By the way, I've been meaning to ask.
Is the wall of steel a thing just made up as a concept, or has it actually been a mod in Terraria? Like, your avatar looks like something straight out of game files, and I can kind of see how it might have been implemented by somebody.

 

It was, and probably still is, a mod. I actually took the modder's Wall of Steel sprite and name without knowing the mod existed, and drew my own after months of using it like a douchebag. I still feel like shit for it, too.
My Starbound avatar is still a modified version of that sprite. I should replace it soon.

You have grand intentions, I'll admit, but it's just not the right thing we need, not sure if anything can help.

It's a cycle, a vicious one. Only drastic action can break it, that narrows down the available options... quite a bit.

Just realize though the more hated someone is, the lonelier they are too, keep it as an absolute last resort.
(Also don't want any moderators to cone in to lay down the law, it would be a shame to be caught up in that)

 

It's approaching that point faster than you think. I have no qualms just fading into obscurity as if I was never here. I've done it before, if need be I'll do it again.

I have no idea what the original is. I did a quick image search for wall of steel and all I found were...
...around sub-par quality. So, assuming that the original was there, then I gotta say props on the moddy work on it. Looks quality legit.

Okay that's actually pretty cool-looking, but I think yours still looks more polished (even though, if I understand it correctly, technically speaking, what you did was polish itself )

FYI, my current avatar is a shittier version of the WoS sprite that I made for a joke.
It shouldn't look polished at all!

 

I think I should take a break and see if my opinion on this thread changes, if it ever does...
I'm just getting tired of this vicious cycle it's entered, I don't want to become part of it, I'd rather go out in a big huge flash, and be done with it; than suffer in silence time and time again.
