The new update coming...

Makes me feel a bit stupid about trashing all those weapons that weren't as good as the one I was using.

 

It will entirely depend on how mechanic reliant characters are in the back end. So long as future updates don't require changes to characters as they are it shouldn't pose a problem. Worst case I can see is if Tech or Items are changed and we end up having some useless junk in our inventory that needs to be disposed of

 

I created one character of each race and made them visit my human castle to interact with human npcs and get armor/weapons.

I want to do it with hylotl npcs as well, because I don't think there are human or hylotl villages available in this version. A floran talking with hylotls will be very interesting.

 

That is in fact incorrect, it would not be stealing because every single Hearthstone wipe that has happened previously refunded all cash spent in the game so please do not mislead people with lies. The recent move to no longer wipe hearthstone is new and is only due to the fact that the game is finally going into open beta after a months long closed beta. Starbound is not doing a closed beta, so you should expect months worth of wipes before its stable enough to no longer wipe. The very fact that Ty said we are going to be receiving the final character wipe soon is surprising tbh, and you should still just in case expect future wipes regardless what he says.

Also Early Access is a new thing that has only recently in the last few months come into being. We still do not know the official ramifications that this is going to cause to game betas in the future, and have yet to see a truly exploitative and unplayable game on early access which we all know is going to come sooner or later.

 

I found some Florans on my Hylotl. they called me a stinkfish q_q.

 

That was very polite. I've seen worse, like: "Hylotl behave or will be eaten."

 

It still hurt my feelings . I butchered him for it >:O

You might wanna step back a bit. In that very tweet he says they're *trying* to add universe backwards compatibility. That doesn't necessarily mean it's gonna be there.

 

Well it all depends on whether they add it or not i guess

 

So excited for the patch so I can start over and get more attached to my stuffz this time! Also, looking for some more people to play with on my server. If you are an adult and use team speak, start a conversation with me! Other female gamers are especially welcome!

 

Once the final wipe (characters and spaceship wise) are dealt with my friends and I can finally get our gears without fear of losing them =P

 

Do not expect the end of all wipes, it's still beta. They are making stuff compatible with what they plan to do in the future and don't plan on any more wipes, but plans change and they might decide to add a completely new system that requires another wipe. The chances and frequency of wipes is certainly going to drop, but I would warn people right now not to get too comfortable with the idea of no more wipes ever. If they flat out said, no more wipes, period, I would be a little disappointed as that means they are limiting their ability to add whatever they want to the game going forward.

 

Hopefully it comes out sooner rather than later this weekend, I think i might be starting to suffer withdrawl ~twitch twitch~

It is getting hard to resist gaming and also classes start soon again soon on top of all that

 

That's often the case, however not entirely the result. Depends on how dependent the mechanics, progression, future content relates to characters and/or ships. Universe wipes I expect going forward, but unless they make dramatic changes to how characters are tied to the core mechanics of the game it may not be an issue at all
