I think that with their new combat system, Starbound has officially separated itself from Terraria

What else is everyone looking for in the new Starbound system?

I'm anticipating the variety that we will have in our hands. Hehe, hands.
Two things I'm going to love about combat:
    • Merely touching an enemy doesn't damage you.
    • Trying to find the best two tools to fit a situation.
All the strange and wonderful combinations of things we can have and go up against make this game something worth waiting for.

I soooo want to see pokémon in this game! There should really be a pokémon game/mod with the same idea as the official games, but in 3D and done differently. :D

So can I dual wield shields or not? D:

Dual wielding sounds fuckin awesome, I'll have two atomic squids in each hand.

I'm looking for not Terraria. After many days of my life that I'll never get back, I want to spend my time on something newer. And this game seems newer, better, and more expansive. This seems it'll take weeks. (That's playtime, not four-five hours a day for a few weeks.)

The new combat system looks so awesome, not to mention that all enemies will have an attack animation! The animation of the deer looked awesome by the way.

If we're suggesting assassins, i want to be able to backstab/throatslice enemies when not seen! That's my favourite part of Skyrim! c:

I love the idea of dual wielding but it would be amazing if having different combinations allowed for different abilities a la Guild Wars 2. So obviously if you have a sword and a gun, one will swing and one will shoot, but it would be sweet if it went beyond that to include combo powers and additional abilities.

This style of wielding reminds me of Bastion. Though granted, they had a separate button dedicated to a shield.

    Double fixed. Notice anything different?

Games in general have had a strong lacking of the ability to dual-wield. While some newer titles have finally come around to fixing that it's even rarer in the 2D genre, so this looks to be pretty awesome so far. Variety is the spice of life and all.

Dual wielding is definitely a plus it adds a whole new level of character customization, and playing your ideal character. Which is something I believe Skyrim did an excellent job on it. Seeing a system similar to that being "translated" into a 2D game is in short: Awesome!. Also the fact that this combines SOO many things from different games means that it'll be hard to get bored of it x]. More bank for my buck :DDD

If there will be SMGs that fire lasers, I know what I'll be duel wielding :D

Dual Laser and Missile launcher, because it can't get much more overpowered then that.
