The Most Cruel Race in Starbound?

Yes,the tribal aspect of the ever so present "Stab Everything!" maneirsm in Florans has been exinct,or do you doubt such thing in the way Florstab's and Greenfinger talk?They do not use the serpentine tone of Florans and can talk,write,think and,in the case of Greenfinger, the ability to be the leader of the Florans.Not easy

Greenfinger was angry because that scientist discovered something that would put his entire race in Danger or just plain mass humiliation,to say the least(possible conection to Agarans is strongly sugested)

Florstab's inident was his fault,as he atempted to create a literature masterpice,that actualy had the quality of Fanfic made by 50 year old cement mixer.
The violence was originated by the book,not him,it was the reaction of many a person who was rather pissed off at the book,ironicaly it was the peace Hipsters Hylotls who bitched the most and most atempted to humiliate the poor delusional Floran.I believe Avians did that aswell.(Time to sharpen Ebony and Ivory...)

TL: DR

Greenffinger had a reason,QUITE a reason to be angry,Florstab's was just humiliated by his book and the outlash it created on everyone else,not by his actions,both naturaly do not posess the agressive nature if the Florans and both are quite Smart,despite Atleast one of them not being the best writter of the Universe

None are violent,both have left the Violence and arent violent and both are prime examples of how Florans can change.
Afraid you missed the point that they themselves werent violent.

Glitch exile people out of their village all the time and kill them. As taken from the starbounder wiki:

Florans are cruel, but only in the sense that they were "born" that way. How do we know that Florans can even be made to think at all the way "civilized" species do? It may be impossible to get a Floran to NOT want to kill things.

If I had to specifically say which race is the "cruelest", it'd be a tossup between Apex and Avians. On the one hand, Apex live in a communistic, dictorial society wherein everything is shared (down to the cells in your body) and progress is the imperative, even at the expense of the people's freedom.

On the other, there are the avians, whom the ingame lore state are working with Greenfinger and Big Ape. They also have a very controlled society on Avos, brainwashing initiates to ritually sacrifice themselves and others.

 

Actualy there are two examples of Floran Individuals who have abandoned all sort of Violent nature,Florstab,the author of Floran Peace and Greenfinger,leader of the Florans!

 

Examples, yes, but this doesn't mean that the entire species can become peaceful as similarly. (Yes, I did look at the post above and your counterarguement).

Just because 2 members of the species are peaceful doesn't mean that the entire species can become peaceful.
Or, to look at it like humans, just because Johnny is a troublemaker when the rest of his family gets straight A's doesn't mean it's going to be easy to make Johnny WANT to be a straight-a student.

Never told you could make every Floran Peacefull,I beleive that would be way too hard,to say the least

 

To be fair, Treeio Florstab also went postal when Floran Peace was unkindly received by the literary community at large. And then they had to repair Professor Irondome and remove various items from his skull. So, not a complete success, but steps in the right direction (he should have used spears, duh).

and if that doesnt count (it may not, I dont know) then the other races still do things that are worse, so the glitch are still not he cruelest

Florans aren't necessarily inherently cruel-- they just have weird ideas about life. Agarans, however, are.

 

Some of the content left over in the game just adds to many races cruelty cakes and maybe some new players to the cruelty race.

Umm... Some of the lore seems to that some violent nature still exist in at least one of them.
