I'm scrolling back on this topic and I'm not entirely sure what to talk about. The unstable is awesome, I gotta say, I never played the nightlies so I'm seeing a LOT of difference between versions. I'm wondering if a "sandbox" difficulty will be enabled sometime in the future which involves not having to go to gates for quests to get items, only ship upgrades, nanoskins being unlocked as ship tiers increase, etc. The game is currently looking amazing for the adventurous type but it feels as if there's a "tedious" hurdle for those who want to jump right into the game and build things after already doing the quests and missions for the first time. Anyone with me on this idea?
A puncountable number of times, I'm sure... Wasn't this in the roadmap? I think someone once said that there would be three sectors, one being the current sector we inhabit, another that will be PVP-centric and a third sector without any harm from monsters and such for creative mode. This was quite a while ago. I'm no longer sure of what the bigger plan looks like.
I understand that the whole sector thing was on the roadmap, but what I'm trying to point out is that in the beginning, to actually get anywhere you need to dig to the center of the starting planet, mine out a bunch of core fragments, go to the gate, do a bunch of quests and then do one big mission so that you can completely fix your FTL systems. I'm just wondering if there'd be an option to forgo all the running around and just "get in there" as they say. Or at least make the starting progression less tedious for multiple characters.
I guess the creative sector would have you fully upgraded and just ready to go anywhere. Or at least it will not contain the progression gating for the nanosuits and just set you free to go anywhere and work through the tiers at your own pace. But on the starting sector for the story mode, I'd guess that no, we'll have to go through the motions in order to progress in the game. What that will entail however is still being worked on.
sir, I have GF, guess wut. It was Historical question, pretty much starbound is late for update, sure made it up part of it, but doesn't have grab keep players addictive stick on it longer for the beta.
I can hardly wait for the Racial Armor Set Bonuses to get Implemented... I'm gonna LOVE digging faster.
unstable is only ever updated when they finished a version but have yet to have it ironed out and ready for the WHOLE public, nightly is, nightly...
Please. On ocean planets add water spawning from "background" so I could build houses underwater like, walls, background, suck out the water with my MM. Not like build walls, fill the hole with dirt and remove dirt with my MM. The alternate idea of doing holes into walls to release water from cave close to surface.
For months have i waited.. though it seem years, decades, centuries... for the stable update. I have long yearned to quest among the stars, having grown tired of the endless monotony of pure sandbox, and hopelessly frustrated by multiplayer server crashes. At long last, the day approaches. Through summers, springs, falls, and parts of winter have the loyal fans watched and waited, checking the starbound page every 5 minutes for a new developer post(or, at least, that is what I've been doing). As the stable update draws near, I tremble to think that within a few short days I shall once again travel among the stars in my castle ship (or possibly space train!), exploring new planets, laying waste to civilizations, and hacking apart monsters as in days of old. Though the wait was long, so does the changelog stretch like the sky across the page. The new update shall be greater than any previous, and none shall contest that the game was better before.
Hey are there any announcements when the unstable branch will go stable ? Or any hinds where i can find the Information bout that Thx
Love the newest update, finally the nighty is in working condition Though, I hate those weird lag spikes
According to info I heard, (Maybe even in the Blog this Thread discusses, I forget off the top of my head...) It was gonna release sometime in Jan... possibly around the vicinity of the 15th... if my memory isn't failing its job again.
