Yes that's right The gun form fallout 3 or Syndicate if your old. It would be a type of diplomatic weapon. Shooting a NPC with it will change their relation with everyone and you temporally. The gun comes in two broad types. Peace, which makes everyone get along and war, that makes everyone fight. It will come in different forms too. The most basic will have a very short range and only effect one person, but other forms will have longer range or effect a large group of people.
This could work based on the idea they are just told, not to attack or to attack all, it's not very difficult... It's just... uh coding
Yeah, coding. We'd need to get the enemy programmer in to see if this could work, but if it could it would be a nice idea. I don't think so though, cuz i imagine enemies working like they do in terraria, IE they exist to attack you and nothing else. what would they do in peace mode? just stand there? If not then it requires idle animations for some enemies, and . . . yeah it's all just a mess.
They already have idle animations as far as I know, there wasn't any information from the devs on this... but they need them since you can capture and breed them. Besides they have special attack animations so they should have idle animations... I wonder what the characters idle animations will be...
It's not as big a problem as you think it is. It's just as simple as flipping a switch from aggressive to passive and back.
Oh really? in that case this weapon could work. Maybe only on some enemies (an intelligence stat perhaps) and only if they're at lower health.
I love your based on intelligence idea, but hate the based one health idea. I'd like the enemies to be attackable after being pacified at which point they would become violent again.
i mean if they're too high on intel to just do it from the start then at lower health it will work. Say you wander into a planet too hard for you and get jumped by a really tough monster; you get him to like 50% health and pacify him, then run your stupid ass away before it wears off. good idea?
Think about if someone hurt you would you be less intelligent? strategically it would be useful, but logically it makes no sense.
It's a flash bomb and yes it would work to stun the enemy for the seconds you need to escape *Unless you are a tank in which case... good bye nothing can save you.. except a hover bike!*
