The name refers to the sexually reproductive stage of a jellyfish lifecycle, its interesting but I'll agree its unoriginal. As for the race, while interesting, I don't think this could be playable. They're not humanoid enough for the vast majority of armor and weaponry. I wouldn't be surprised to meet them in villages but I would be very surprised if we were to play as one.
well actually, the idea is that they will fit into any armor, because of their jelly bodies, they just slip in. and what parts they cant reach with their legs, the compensate with their telekinesis.
I chose the name to match the naming conventions of other races, such as Avians and Florans. Latin nomenclature, brah. Unoriginality was precisely the intention.
Oh I'm not criticizing it due to its unoriginality anyway. However the design of the species will amke it difficult to implement, Zain claims they can fit into their suits due to their jelly bodies but you need to consider how they'll function in game.
if it doesn't get into game officially, then it WILL be added as a mod. and why is it so unlikely? they float only one pixel off the ground, they will still fit in all doors...and its less animating I have to do when I mod it in xD
I'm not saying you can't mod it in, I'm saying that theres some aspects of this race that makes it highly unlikely to be selected as an official race. The fact that they don't have proper hands, and a humanoid body, plays more of a role in this than you realize.
believe me, I have a grasp of whats necessary. first off, please don't condescend me, that attitude isn't necessary. second off, I never said anything about you saying that it couldn't be modded in, I was merely stating that's what was going to happen. as for the mechanics, the issues you have stated have been noted, most of which has already been solved. the answer is simple, Telekinesis. while they may not be able support their own body, let alone a gun/armor, or armor. BUT using their brains, they can hold said things with only the power of their minds. for example, if lets say a medusan decides to hold a gun, it will use what little strength to hold it, but it will lift it with this telekinesis. hope that helps
I'm not being condescending, I'm trying to word this in a way you'll understand. This race will be completely different from already established races in that it'll need different animations for walking, using tools and general interaction with the world. It will require more work than necessary to put in, hence highly unlikely. I'm not trying to shoot down your idea, I am interested by this race. But it isn't feasible.
again, that's where your wrong. you keep over complicating things. I can make new animations, its just a few sprites, and its really not a big deal. I don't have to change any of the weapons, because they will work like normal I'm not stupid. I would appreciate that you treat me with respect. also stop being such a negative Nancy, there are plenty of faults with your own race, like, the fact that its just a human with no face and a new theme. at least this is original Edit: I realize that I might be sounding like a jackass...but really, i'm not. just trying to get you to understand, that it is possible, and and will be in game (official or other wise)

I don't doubt your modding capabilities and I wish you the best of luck modding this species into the game, but like I've been saying I don't think the developers will patch them into the base game. I don't recall saying you were, I'm having a discussion with you, these aren't personal attacks these are my rebuttals. There is no lack of respect here, I treat you as I would any other human being. I would welcome your criticisms of my race with open arms, I want people to discuss my race with me so I can improve upon them. But I don't see what that has to do with this race. You seem to have misunderstood me, I'm not saying this race is unoriginal, and I'm somewhat confused as to why you decided to attack my idea. I'm just telling you the developers aren't likely to patch it in due to the work required.
I never said they would. I said officially or otherwise. as for the crack at your race, i'm sorry, I got heated, and I apologize I would like for a moment to say, that i'm already assuming that they wont put this in officially, so everything I've talked about so far is on that basis. sorry for that confusion.
I'm aware of the challenges this race has in being chosen due to its differentness. Frankly, I don't care. I could have come up with something that conforms with the rest of the current races, but I'd rather not repeat old patterns because I personally find that boring. This race is very different from the established norms and that's the point. If it doesn't get picked, no biggie. We still have plans to make it a mod. Thanks for your input, though.
