The Main Antagonist

Any thoughts on the main antagonist of the story? All we know so far is that they destroyed your planet.

I hope it'll be a combination of Predators and Vogons.

Discuss.

 

Maybe they'll be something like the Grox? An incredibly hostile race that lives for war and wants to be the only species in the galaxy?
There may be more than on antagonist, too. It'd be cool if they were to change depending on whether you play more peaceful or more violent.

 

I hope it's deeper than just an evil race...

 

I'm hoping for the clichéd evil twin brother/sister scenario, just so I can say at the final boss fight:

Come at me bro.

 

Probably has something to do with the penguins.

It's always the penguins.....................

 

Doompenguins.

Those who you thought your closest friends were merely lulling you into a false sense of security.

 

Those sound more like the "Steal your wallet, bad friends" type of penguins

 

No no no no, the main villains will EAT penguins... with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

 

some slowpokes that my planet by accident and then i set out with my reluctant pikachu to catch em all...

 

In an unexpected turn of event's I'd like to see my own station turn against me, Hal 9000 style~

 

That would actually be pretty darn cool. Perhaps the antagonist that destroyed your home planet was a virus (of the computing variety) that you took with you in your shuttle.

 

Could be another reason as to why your shuttle crashes in the first place, I like it~

 

And encouragement to go planet-hopping and get blueprints for new technology - something that's resistant to / unaffected by the virus.

 

The main antagonist is the laws of physics, and the entire game is centered around your defeating them.

 

a little little demon with a strange power....could seem poetic and hilarious.

 

The heretic, the mutant, the witch, the xeno.

Also Hobo which reveals to be a god-like entity

 

Maybe...Maybe...It could be the player all along.

 

I rather like the virus idea, makes me imagine something from Stargate SG-1(I think?), I think they had some kind of nano-bot thing that could take different shapes, so maybe on the player's birth-planet they used that kind of tech and then it got infected with the virus and then started turning into things that blow planets up.

 

Some kind of mad empire of humans and\or aliens that are doing experiments on planets but most of the time destroying them because they did too much damage to the planet...

 

Bunnies.
Their slaughter in the millions has prompted a great angry revenge, and they INTEND to RULE THE GALAXY WITH AN IRON PAW!
Or maybe Space Goblins...
Who knows? Maybe the planet just got hit be a rouge moon or something?
