Yeah, I imagine she'd do that too, but I'm afraid her AI tells her to kill it. I'm still gonna say she just relocates it ^.^

 

I would've thought she'd try to stick one on a pole and stare at it to try to enter its mind or something.

 

Um, just an FYI for anyone who's doing the breeding-slime-colonies-outside-the-hutch thing...

I'm starting to notice some significant lag when I enter Cindersap Forest - it's like a really bad stuttering or shaking of the screen. (It's happened before too but not this bad.) This is where I have a HUGE slime population - most of it in the river where I can't really reach to kill them off, and a good amount in the lower part of the map where the back entrance to the sewer is. I notice it gets worse when I get closer to where they are all clustered, so I'm pretty sure they are the cause.

Just something to keep in mind, don't let your slime colony grow too out of control or you might compromise being able to play on certain parts of the map. I think in my next save I'll stick to areas that don't have large bodies of water.

 

Is there a way you could use the slingshot to kill them?

 

I tried, it won't work though because the tiles where water meets land act like a wall, so anything I shoot at them just comes back at me. I can set bombs off on shore but they will only reach a few of the slimes, and since they move around....

Basically, they're pretty much staying there for the duration of this playthrough.

 

Oh dear... My purples are in Cindersap.

If I try building fences around the water system, will I be able to save Cindersap and the slimes?

 

Mmm, that's what I was afraid of. I currently just started my town slime population, 1 slime strong so far! I hatch them right next to the clinic, so I'll just have to either move them back or kill them if they get too close to the river. And maybe do a culling once in a while once they start mass breeding.

 

Possibly? You may still run the risk of them getting in there anyway, somehow I find slimes in all sorts of odd places off the walkable areas of the map. They got in the pond that way; there's one in Leah's yard, one next to Marnie's house that I can't reach, and tons of them in groups off to the sides past the fence where I can't go. It's like the game gets confused where to put them so it kinda just drops them wherever, and if it drops them in the water....

 

There should be a way to call Stardew Valley Pest Control. But with all your slimes, they might just eat the exterminator.

 

"Who you gonna call? Slime-buste-AAAGH!"

Results: One less 'exterminator', one happy (and slightly larger) pile of slimes, and black-listed by the Slime-Busters for being too dangerous to work for.

 

Are you saying that releasing a monster with almost no natural predators in the middle of a town had unintended consequences?

Unequip Your slimecharmer-ring, put your warface on and hope that they notice you and get in range of your bombs or even melerange - but if You cant reach em`with a megabomb i dont know if they notice you on that distance.

 

They still chase you down, the ring just makes it so they can't hurt you. Keep it equipped!

 

With the ring equipped I pretend they are swarming me to shower me in slimey admiration. I feel like I'm being chased by paparazzi.

Well, Emily finally noticed the slime inside and she q̶u̶i̶c̶k̶l̶y̶ ̶m̶u̶r̶d̶e̶r̶e̶d̶ ̶i̶t̶ carefully replaced it, while cursing bloody murder xD
And then she asked me why there are monsters in the house with that delightful smile on her face. Aha, I love Emily.

And also my little town slime population is growing.

Blue + red = pink apparently. I approve!

 

I don't know what's going on in my current game but I keep ending up with slime harems. Almost all my slimes are female and it takes me ages to get even a single male for the group. Not that the male slimes are complaining, but it's led to rampant inbreeding. I somehow ended up with a greyish silver slime.

 

I've seen those - I like their color, but they drop rocks if you slay them. lol

I've actually got a couple of orange ones on my game - I'm not sure what colors bred to get those.

 

I'm not gonna care about inbreeding, I'm gonna breed that little pink girl to her red dad and see what happen. If I can have a town full of different shades of pink slimes, then I'll say I've done a good job

 

My colony down in Cindersap is all pinks. I got them from breeding red to purple, and then slowly removing all the purple slimes. They look like giant salmonberries in spring. lol
