This is a random idea I've just had that I thought I might share.

Keeping track of the planets you visit can be hard, especially the order in which you find them, what you found there and how many times you've visted that planet.

You caaan keep track of the planets you've vistied, coordinates and name wise in the game files, but honestly, this can be frustrating, slow and is kind of hard I'd imagine for people less savvy with computers.

My idea for fixing this is the logbook.

Pretty much, it would record the planets you've visited, coordinates, sector, and a screenshot of your spawn, showing whatever it looked like when you first arrived.

Then you can add to it, by writing notes on the planets you explore, such as writing down what features you found there, EG: Ships, temples, villages, poison water, meteor rain, cold nights, etc.

In addition to this, you could use the investigate feature, you know, the one that lets you look at random objects/items/features of the world around you, and use that to then click on the animal/tree types, which you could choose to name, then have their image recorded on the page for their planet in the logbook.

Honestly, I feel like this would add a lot to the game, in terms of both easy of use, where you can keep track planets, trees and of enemy types for use as pets, an in terms of the whole "Exploring adventurer" gameplay feel that the game has, as you could write notes on each planet you visit, feeling like you leave each planet with an extra little bit of information, a little souvenir that can build up as part of a collection as you begin to really map out an area of flora and fauna.

Cause who doesn't want to feel like Sir Hammerlock; Explorer, Scholar, Gentleman?
