C0.5: Prologue. Day 1 - 22 PM: Ant: Me and some of my friends were able to get onboard one of the ships today! All that hard work in the academy paid off! I'm just glad we don't have to go through the extended trials like my friend Paul did... They get us extra credits but they aren't required, all they really do is let us start off on the new ship they've been working on. It's a pretty big ship, but me, Randy, and Parx wanted to leave soon as possible haha. Now that I've finished this 'Log' that the captain makes us do how do I turn this thing off? Maybe it- "END TRANSMISSION" Day 1 - 8:50 PM: Ant: The ship sure is big from what I've seen, It's not like the mothership we could have gone on but it's still pretty dam big! I just regret one thing about this ship... The food. If you can call it that really, it's tastes like bird droppings and sweat from a fat guy, at least what we had today was. The drinks I have to say weren't very bad but just that food... it completely erased the taste of that drink from my mouth! I really need to get active, I haven't really been very active since I was in the academy about 2 weeks ago. They told us we could go see our families and do whatever before we left so Randy and I did, Parx however... is well... he doesn't have a family, he's been an orphan and never found a family for all his life, but oddly enough he made friends quick in the academy. Weird, huh? I guess some people can just make friends easily, I however am not one of them, I just act funny around people, in the weird way. But somehow I was able to be friends with 3 awesome guys, or 2 if you don't count Paul who we won't see again for a while. "END TRANSMISSION" Digitech Logger Loading... Day 2 - 12:45 AM: Ant: I can't believe it's already day 2. Today took forever. I'm talking exersizes, horrid foods, and other crewmembers! I barely even saw Randy and Parx today, but I did get to meet this nice girl named Eliza, and the captain of the ship, who strangely enough was a pretty nice dude. I guess you can't judge a book by it's cover hehe. Well it's pretty late I shou- Ship: ALERT. ALERT. ALL CREW TO MAIN CAFETERIA IMMEDIATELY. Ant: Whats going on!?! Oh god this can't be good... how do I turn this stupid thing o- "END TRANSMISSION" Digitech Suit Logger Loading... Day 2 - 12:58 AM: Ant: I'm starting to like this logging thing, and I guess the suit lets me have use it to where I can just say a word to activate it! Not saying it though cause it might turn off. Randy: Hey Ant, what are you doing? Ant: I'm using the suits recording system, that's Randy by the way, and Parx is somewhere in the room, the crew is bigger then I thought it would be. Parx: That's a bit strange. Ant: Shut up, Parx. Oh it looks like the captains going to speak. Captain: I bet you were wondering why I called you all here today, well I have important news. The ship's navigating told us there is a planet with very good resources on it nearby! Now some of you might be tired... but wake up, because that's not the end of what I have to say. We've been traveling towards that spot since it told us to go to it, and as it turns out it was wrong. So if you see any other ship malfunctions please tell us. Eliza: Captain may I have a word with you... Parx: Eliza must be the ships first mate or something haha. Captain: Miss Fenrik here has told me that we've been caught in a Cosmic Storm, is that right? Yes but it shouldn't be a problem as long as we- Ship: Captain, an incoming meteoroid is approaching the ship, what are your orders? Captain: A rock? Your really interrupting me over a simple rock!?! The ship rocked back and forth for a second and then the power when out. Ant: Guys? Parx: I got Randy here. Ship: ALERT. ALERT. SHIP COLLISION. EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY. EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY. "END TRANSMISSION" System Malfunction... Repairing Internal Hardware... Calculating Date and Time... Testing... Digitech Suit Logger Loading... Day 2 - 5:47AM: Ant: Hello again, I thought I'd just do this quick since this might be the last time you hear from me. The ship was destroyed... that meteor or whatever must have hit it hard, because when it hit the ship was bent from the side and we were lucky we even got off that thing, at least some of us, but now we're this life pod! And I'm getting claustrophobic... Parx: Dude I still can't believe that I saved you on there, you were thiiiiis close to being sucked into space. Randy: I can't believe it either to be honest, you did get hit pretty hard Ant.. Ant: I was fine cause of this suit, this thing is like magic! Oh and also with us is Eliza and- umm... what's your name again? ???: You can call me Drake. Ant: Yeah Drake, the other crew members are on some other life pods, I wonder what it looks like out there. We've been traveling for a few hours and I haven't felt much of anything, I guess it can't hurt to open a window- oh wow. Drake: Holy... We'd landed on a planet unlike anything we'd ever seen without even knowing it, the sky blue, the grass green, and the creatures graceful. Our planet is a barren wasteland so this was foreign to us. Randy: Now THIS is what I was waiting for! Parx: Where is everyone? Eliza: Yeah, I don't see anyone else out there, only some animals and... what's that blue stuff? Ant: I'll take a look... Well that's weird it's like a liquid of some kind, kind of like the green canisters they gave us at home, but blue. Drake: Well I guess we'll have to survive out here for a few days until they send a rescue team out. "END TRANSMISSION" Digitech Loading... Day 2 - 6:28 PM: Ant: Hey everyone, I'm recording again if that's alright. We've been seeing what we can do around here, or at least we were, but now we've set up a little shelter here. Parx: I did most of the work. Ant: Like hell you did, Drake went out to find something to eat and Eliza is sleeping as far as I can tell, I could use some sleep... god I realized I haven't slept in like a day. But anyways Randy and Parx are with me as you can tell. Randy: Sup. Ant: You know what I just wanted to get a quick recording, I think I'm going to bed guys, so talk to you tomorrow. Bye... "END TRANSMISSION" Digitech Loading... Day 3 - 12:24 AM: Drake: Ah that's how I turn it out... Hello to whoever is going to listen to this, earlier today I was searching for food when.. I found something. I asked Parx and Randy to come with but they said they had better things to do. My name is Drake by the way and I was just put on their life pod when we escaped the ship, I wish I could have been put on my gal's ship but I guess I'll have to get out of this stupid planet first, but that's not the point. Earlier today I found something, I don't quite know what but I think it was some sort of... um, thing ok? I don't know every single machine but hey whatever. So I think I'm coming up to it now, yeah here it is. I don't exactly know quite what it is but it looks like a- Parx: Is that a ship!?! Drake: I though you said you were staying behind? Parx: Yeah well I got bored and I'm not super tired right now, but anyways look at this thing!! Drake: I found it earlier, I tried to get you to come but you and randy didn't so- Parx: Why didn't you just tell us? Drake: I wanted it to be a surprise... Parx: Whatever, shine your flashlight over there, what does that say? S.S... Drake: Starbound? What in the- "END TRANSMISSION" Digitech Loading.. Warning! Power low!... Day 3 - 12:45 AM: Drake: Sorry I didn't mean to drop it.. Parx: Well now it's low power so we gotta do this fast. Drake: Do what fast? You don't mean go in that thing... Parx: Yeah of course I do. Who knows what's in there? There could be gold or weapons for all we know! Drake: Or there could be some giant evil monster thing that wants to rip our faces off! Or... oh god spiders... Parx: I doubt there will be monsters or.. what did you say again? Spiters? Drake: No Spiders, they're a creature I saw on a planet I was on one time, really creepy buglike things, you probably call them something else from your parts. Parx: You mean those 8 legged things? I think I've heard of them before. Drake: Yeah well on a planet like this they'd probably grow bigger with all the wildlife. Parx: Just come on! Drake: Don't grab me! Parx: You idio- "END TRAnsmis~~~~~ End of C1 C1: A new view: The camera fell to the ground and broke in two, with the memory chip flying out the side of it. "Alright, now you're gonna get it." Parx said. Drake ran like he'd never ran before in his life, into the ship. Parx shouted at him, "Don't go in there! It'll be harder for me to find you!" Drake hid behind what looked like some sort of pillar and breathed heavily, feeling the effects of not excersizing in his academy does. He looked over the metal, "Kind of hard to breath without proper training huh?" Drake looked at him confused and rather scared. "Please don't hurt me..." Parx laughed and just gave him some water. "It's not me who will be mad, Ant though will be kind of pi-.. what is that?" A giant was facing them from aways, they saw it's shape but couldn't make out what it was. "It looks like it's across the bridge, let's go check it out." Drake looked at Parx as if he were insane, go across this huge dark floor with what could be traps or even monsters? "I don't know if that's a good idea..." Parx disregarded his thought and walked over to the shadowy giant. "Dude... you've got to see this." Drake walked over to Parx and looked at what he was looking at and saw why it was impressive. "Where are those two!?!" Randy exclaimed, they had been gone for quite a while now. "Hopefully they aren't dead from the creepy crawlies hehe.." Ant said, chuckling at Randy who was afraid of bugs of any sort. Randy stood up and said, "I'm going to go look for them." Ant and Eliza looked at him, Ant curious why he was trying to be a hero all of the sudden. "I actually wasn't kidding about the bugs dude, I've seen some big buzzers around here." Randy then looked pale. Eliza then said, "Oh please, bugs aren't all that scary, what you should be afraid of are arachnids, giant eight legged monsters." ~ Then they heard a sound, that seemed to be coming from the forest, closer and closer. "Get back! I've got my blaster here!" Ant pulled his out, then Eliza pulled hers out to in a sort of mocking way towards Ant. The sound got louder, some sort of steps and bushes rubbing against something, it sounded... metally. "Ahoooooyyy!" shouted Parx, Drake in with him. "What the-?... What is that!?!" Randy asked scaredly, Drake and Parx looked at each other and smiled. "We call it... 'MECH'". Ant, Randy and Eliza were looking at the monstrous robot in awe, it was bigger then any of the ones they had at home, not as big as the ships though. "So you just found that thing in the woods then?" Eliza asked, "No, we found it on -ON THE MOUNTAINS! Yeah on the mountains haha weird huh?" Eliza looked at Parx and Drake confused but didn't feel like pursuing the conversation. "What is wrong with you?" Drake looked at Parx in a silly way. "What? I was just going to tell them that we found the -I know what you were going to say, but right now we can't afford to tell them about it." Drake looked more confused then ever, and felt it too. "We can't just not tell them... -That's exactly what we're going to do. For now." Drake wanted to know why but Parx walked away before he could. Ant walked up to Drake, "Do you know where my camera is?" Drake looked at him wide eyed and frightened. "Um... Well... You see... We went into the forest and..." Drake was trying to make a convincing enough story, although he isn't the greatest storyteller. "And what? Where's my camera!?!" Drake looked up and was about to tell the truth, "A monster attacked us!" Ant looked at him unbelieving, but Drake was persistent. "I swear a monster attacked us! Just before we found Mech as a matter of fact! It was big, it was like a slomdog combined with a rotgaw almost, except bigger teeth." Drake was looking at Ant like a sculpture, but sweatier. "Well... that sounds horrifying, were you able to save the camera though?" Drake gave Ant the memory chip. "Eh.. it's good enough, I'm just glad you and Parx are ok." ~ "Drake, where'd you put that... what did you call it? Mech?" Drake looked at him smiling, feeling lucky he got out of trouble for the camera. "Yeah, and it's over there." Drake pointed to the machine and Ant walked over to it, looking at the technology which looked rather good for it's age. "So.. how do I operate it? Do I just-" The Mech got up immediately and marched forward, and wouldn't stop, "AAAAAAHHHH-" Drake looked at the machine frightened. "Pull the striped lever!" Ant did that, and the machine came to a stop, Ant breathing heavily, "Thanks for that..." Drake nodded to him, and then went to the tent to take a nap, it was already extremely late, and Ant did the same. "Ant, wake up" Randy was pushing him a bit, but eventually he got up from his slumber. Ant looked at him still half asleep, "What is it?" Randy seemed to be very happy this morning, and pointed outside. He got up and went outside, out there was a cruiser, from what it looked like it was a G-27... but how is that possible? "Where did this come from?" The ship opened, and outside walked Paul, as well as what looked like his girlfriend and... Ant's parents? "What are you all doing here? How did you get on the ship?" They all smiled, and as they were about to speak, a raging mech came and crushed them all along with the ship. "OH MY GOD NOO!!" Ant yelled, he looked at Randy and Parx who's eyes for some reason were just... colorless. "It's all right buddy, we're here to protect you." They walked closer to him and tried to grab him, but he dodged the grip and stepped back. "DON'T TOUCH ME!" Ant yelled again, when from behind Eliza grabbed his shoulder, her eyes also colorless. "Don't worry, we're here to protect you." He ran from his friends, is this what the world had been coming to? He ran until in his path a giant robot stood, being commanded by Drake, who's eyes were as well colorless. "Don't run, please, we're here to protect you." And then he ran, well what would you do? He ran and around him the trees seemed to be melting, and the forest creatures on fire. Then he saw a ship. ~ So funny story... I was going to make a comeback on this buuuut... there was a.. error. I'm done trying now so sorry if you liked the story :/
Eh, not bad. Most "script stories" I've read have left something to be desired but you didn't do too badly. Nice touch at the end, for a moment I thought they encounter a blue slime from Terraria, took me a few seconds to realize none of them had seen water before.
This story is looking pretty good! Once the game is released in its beta or full stage, I'll be writing one myself. Log-style stories are fun, but I prefer stories with an uninterrupted flow.
Very nice story. I could help with your writers block, I'm writing a log story too. What are you stuck on?
I'm sorry for the wait! I've been busy with things, but I've written some more to the story and hope to keep it a more 'semi' regular basis.
