Using it with Steam... first mod I tried to install. Game keeps auto closing, if I take the mod out it's fine. Can anyone help? I'm gonna see if this happens with other mods.

The mod has not been updated for the new patch (Furious Koala)

Until dkm2 updates it, you cannot use this mod. Annnddd since he has not logged in since the 18th, we might be waiting a while.

    Hello guys,

I am not the creator of this mod, but I updated it for you guys, so you can use it until the creator updates it with new features.
I also fixed the issue with the rupees. Rupees are now a currency, no more annoying conversions.

    Download

    Have fun!

    Best Regards,
    PurelyArbitrary.

    Indeed, thank you.

All the gear is still incredibly OP, so i just use it for looks, but I am happy to be Link again.

The change to crafting on the Gossip stone is fun, though I'd love to see some Tabula Rasa mod love.

Unless someone takes over the mod, I doubt we will be seeing an update any time soon. The original creator has not even logged into the site since Jan 18 and the mod has been removed/fallen off the top downloads & top mods listings.

    It's dead.

Any chance you could continue updating the mod in the future, PurelyArbitrary?

Well, since the mod creator didn't clarify if he allows the alteration and redistribution of the mod, I can't.

Sorry if I am beating a dead horse here, I don't know much about modding and such. Is there a time frame for a mod to die when it hasn't been updated in a long time? It just really sucks that so many of us love this mod. So basically someone has to build a new one from the ground up?

EDIT: Judging by the new broken items I can craft the suggestion I listed below causes some problems. The game will run, but I don't think the mod will be fully functional with it. Just a heads-up.

I don't believe there is anything wrong with modifying mods for personal use, as long as you're not redistributing other people's work. To make this mod work (or at the very least, let the game launch with it active) all you have to do is download Notepad++ and edit a single line of text in a single file.

Once you get Notepad++ installed, go into the mod folder and you will see a file called "TLOZlink.modinfo" Right click that file and open it with Notepad++.

Inside that file you will see a line called "version" : and then whatever version of the game the mod was originally designed for. As Starbound gets updated the new version will be listed on the game's launcher. Open the Starbound launcher and look for the line "Update v. Furious Koala 26/01/2014" since this is the update we are using currently.

That information is what is important. You want to copy the "v. Furious Koala" And replace the version that the mod's author originally put in.

What you want to end up with is a line that says ""version" : "Beta v. Furious Koala",". Save the file and exit and launch Starbound.

Obviously it's possible that things may break, since sometimes Starbound's changes require more... in-depth tweaks to mods to make them work, but if Starbound updates don't negatively impact a mod's content then you can (sometimes) just change the mod's version number on your own with no negative side-effects.

Should be cautious about doing this, though, and if you choose to do it I am not responsible for your game or mod breaking in any way. But I think the worst that can happen is your game will simply crash if there are conflicts, or will not launch because it detects them on their own.

At the very least it is a temporary workaround while you wait for the mod author to return, or for someone to make their own mod that does something similar.

I did this to the mod myself and am going to play for a while to see if it actually works. If I come across any problems I'll come back and edit this post to let people know.

That does not work, because the update changed a lot of things. I already fixed everything. You can find the download link a few posts ago.

True, but I figured I should mention it because it does sometimes for other mods, like cosmetics and things.
