Anyway, this is a really cool hypothesis! It's crazy how well it fits with the current lore.

 

Sadly the official lore document they released some time back kills this hypothesis dead

As you can see. Kluex was a very real avian - notably the leader of a number specially bred, modified and educated by the Avian's benefactor race. It was him who led them back to Avos against the benefactors wishes, bred with the native Avians and gave rise to the intelligent, "modern" avian half breed that represents the modern population. Why people saw him as a god (that he was smarter, fitter, and better educated than any Avian before him) has been lost to history - and Kluex is very much dead. Even their religion recognizes that (in Avian myth he is the gatekeeper to the afterlife, judging them all)

Naturally given their religion explicitly states Kluex is dead, it rules out anyone actually taking orders from a penguin dressed as Kluex... unless of course there is some lore entry I've missed that claims Kluex is giving orders to the stargazers. In which case that kluex would have to be an imposter but I've yet to see anything that explicitly states Kluex is still there giving commands even in the modern day.

That said, there is quite a bit of disparity between the official lore documents they put out some time back and the actual in-game lore.

 

This is old, retconned lore.

 

Basically, at the moment, the only confirmed canon lore is in-game.

Just be sure to leave some bits unanswered(Or at least really vague) when more books are put in. So we can still dare to dream.

Haha, don't worry, making sure there's always a fun element of mystery is one of my biggest priorities.

 

When I read the Kluex Dilusion, I had to bust out laughing at the pun. The title, the autho, hilarious. xD
But then reading about the space station, I was a bit disappointed that it didn't provide coordinates for me to check it out for myself.

 

Which space station particularly? *edit* There are two Avian-related ones. I guess you mean Kluex's.

I once read a book on aztec mythology some of the practices are brutal any of that going to rub off on the avien lore? Also any chance of feathered serpent gods?

 

There is a apparently a ritual of dumping tar on athiests.

Also, I found this trinket in the commandments of kleux:

"Thou shall not worship false idols, such as penguins.
Thou shall never take dinner with a Floran."
