The Kluex.. Big Ape.. and those odd Glitch Temples.

Alright so my friend and I have been discussing the game's lore when he mentions the glitches at the temple screams about Kluex and he asked "Isn't the Kluex the Avians' god?"

That's when it hit me, What if the Kluex happen to be an even MORE advanced alien race? Ancient Avians perhaps met them and saw them as a god and when the Kluex left they wrote the stores which turned into ONE god because of a mistake. Moving along, The glitch, the lore states that an unknown race created the glitch to experiment on "Society" again: The Kluex? Perhaps those Glitches at the temple were designed to protect whatever technology this race hidden inside the lab temples.

Not only that but.. Big Ape? Perhaps this mysterious race ushered along the Apex the Big Ape being one of the Kluex that already looked a little more Apex-y and the Apex adapted it as their leader or "Big brother".

You know.. Reading back on this makes me feel like a conspiracy theorist.. Thoughts?

 

When you walk past an Apex guard you have spawned he will say something along the lines of "The boss is here. Gotta keep my cool, just like with Big Ape.". That tells me that Big Ape is a physical being that a lot of Apex have seen. As for the lab temples, those are also Apex, they just have advanced armor on.

 

Ah Makes sense, Well it was fun being a crackpot theorist for a couple hours. I honestly can not wait to see much more of the game and it's lore.

 

Kluex is obviously a deity of a super evolved commando-penguin race. Hence the first boss. Or Maybe He's Colonel Kluex Sanders. Rut-roh!

 

The 'Introducing the Avians' blog post pretty explicitly shows you that the Avians were uplifted. With the manner in which Avian mythology is written regarding Kluex in the lootable codex entries, it's blatantly obvious the Avian's gods are a more advanced species, and Kluex himself is deified either as a result of being the first of the uplifts or as a convenient control method. Or both. Or he might even still be alive in whatever ship or space station he 'ascended' to.

 

So Basically in my mind it seems like there's one big super race working behind the scenes for quite a few species.
I can believe the penguins is Kluex.

 

Kinda ironic that the Avians, who look down on their grounded actually worship a race that is nothing but. (being penguins after all).

 

The .pdf is outdated and was retconned, this is confirmed by the writing/lore dev. The only good things are in the game right now.

As for the lore, Big Ape is a real...er ape. He is a real apex. Kluex was a real avian, just a super enhanced smart avian who decided to set down rules for the avian race. After he died centuries later they started to worship him as a god for his seemingly godlike feats he performed, (which was bestowing the avian race with advanced technology given by another super advanced race.) Also Kleux actually had wings and could fly. If you've spent any time around avians, its kinda big deal

I remember, 2 years or 1.5 years ago, when they started announcing lore, there was something like a form of advanced aliens that wanted to enhance the avian race. The chose Kluex because he was one of the smartest or something like that, and they improved his thinking and abilities. Then, they started breeding the enhanced avians with the un-enhanced avians, creating some from of breeds.

However, Kluex is not really a god, just an alpha avian or something like that.. Don't remember if those were some sort of Glitches that enhanced the avians tho.

 

I think the apex created the glitch.

 

I also reached the same conclusion as you regarding Kluex, Big Ape, the Glitch, and the temple ships. I haven't read much of the Codex because I'm wanting to wait until closer to release to really get into the lore but I gathered that among the other races there is a little confusion regarding Big Ape and Kluex seeming to be the same entity. Is Big Ape ever explicitly stated to be an actual Apex? I figured he was like Big Brother from 1984. A leader who supposedly tries to keep private but the populous is encouraged to worship like a deity and the only proof that he is still around or ever existed is the assurances of the upper party, in this case the Miniknog I believe.

Has anyone found anything that confirms the temple ship's guards are Apex? They look like Glitch to me but they don't speak in the same way and they say something about your blasphemy against Kluex. The ship has all that crystal tech and the exterior is crystal shaped which is what made me think that Kluex was the race that made it, created the Glitch, and gave technology to the Avians (which is also crystal based.) The pieces just fall into place too well.

So it seems the ship's guards are Glitch that did not glitch out, were repaired, or are an otherwise upgraded version of the Glitch that the Kluex adapted to guard their ships. The ships appear to be abandoned except the aforementioned Glitch programmed to wander the empty halls for eternity and slaughter any intruders so perhaps the Kluex are nearly extinct; save the one that lives behind the persona of Big Ape.

 

If Big Ape turns out to be an actual Apex, I'll be terribly disappointed.

In the novel that inspired the Apex race, it is strongly hinted that Big Brother is a social construct rather than an actual person.

I found a book in an avian town that tells of the penguins being the first followers of Kluex.

 

There seems to be a bit of a misunderstanding here at the moment when it comes to the high-tech temples. Those aren't Glitch guards running around in those, they're Avians wearing one of the Glitch's racial armor. When you kill one in front of another they'll say 'You killed [Name Here]!!!', or something along those lines, the names they shout are consistently names from the Avian's random name pool.
And currently Kluex is a singular entity (Up to debate on if they're alive still or not) who is worshipped as a flesh and blood God rather than a philosophical God.

My guess is that the guards in the temples are using placeholder armor for the moment and that they're supposed to be Avians who are tied to the Clipped Council.

 

Big Ape doesn't exist in my opinion. "Big Ape Sees All" and all that is just a play on an Orwellian society. The Apex are very oppressed, and used by other species as experiments. To be honest, most of the races in game are "failed civilizations" and are inherently messed up beyond repair, either by colossal failure or crimes against the universe itself.

I think most of, or all of them are being used and manipulated by more superior races.

 

Or maybe the guards itself are placeholders, so neither the race and armor is correct... But your statement is the most logical IMO.

 

Big Ape does exist. Is it an Apex? Doesn't seem like it. Whatever it is though, it is big, it is strong and it is terrifying.

Try 'one big council'.

Not likely; the Apex had enough to deal with. Whatever created the Glitch is long gone and neither the Avian gods, it's clipped council or the great Big Ape which are some of the oldest surviving alien races (that explored space before the arrival of humans) know whom or what created the glitch.
