Regardless of the conditions of the devs and state of development, if you like this game and its concept/potential, throw money at them. =3

I can only hope we can make tiy, bartwe, kyren, omnipotententity and the rest of the devs lives more awesome in return for such an awesome game.

I don't believe I've ever been apart of a gaming community this big, and this passionate about a game that is still in production. You guys at Chucklefish are lucky to have such a following and I'm glad to be apart of it. I cannot wait until beta/release and I wish you all the best.

 

Kudos to all of you. I could not work one job and still work on a side project. Much less TWO jobs.

I am slightly confused as to how Bartwe could have amassed so much debt, after all, I believe the developement team is made up of 17 people, which puts that at an even split of 53,000 dollars each (at this point). Plus wouldn't he be making more if he was doing full time?

Although, I guess it really depends on how long developement has really lasted. If it has been going on for two years, only getting 53,000 for it would be a bit of a problem.

Also I'm confused how pre-orders can be going faster, when Bartwe is dropping down from full-time to part time. :/

But oh well, all that matters is that the game is released in reasonable time, with wonderful quality.

Edit: My calculations are probably also missing stuff like taxes, Humble selling it for them, server running, etc...

 

Good to hear that you guys are doing significantly better as a result of the pre-order. I hope that the investments I, and everyone else, have made to that $900k pile reflects the confidence the community has in you guys presenting us the eventual Beta & release of Starbound .

I think it was unrealistic to believe that 900,000 dollars would cover the debts/other financial obligations of Everyone at chucklefish, but still, what has been raised so far has obviously helped significantly. Even if the money does not speed up development, I think it does leaps and bounds for keeping the development team healthy with reasonable amount of down time. Afterall, We are all only human lol.
