Story The Icecube (A story that takes place between Afraid of the Dark and Raven's Cry)

Welcome everyone! This in a fan-fiction about Hawk Novablast, my Human USCM character, which takes place directly after he escapes from Avex's planet.

Chapter 1

Penguins:

Hawk Novablast, Supreme Commander of the United Systems Colonial Marines, collapsed into his bunk. He still didn't fully comprehend the horrors he had experienced on that planet. He had just sent the ship into FTL speed, after dropping off Eric at the orphanage he lived in, promising that he'd send Conway his way when he got back. Chris had taken his own ship back, so it was just Hawk on his cruiser, the USS Liopleurodon.

Suddenly, there was a large crunching sound. Hawk grabbed his equipment and warped up to the bridge. The ship was out of lightspeed, and was taking heavy f ire from several small ships. They almost looked life...

UFOs.

Hawk grabbed the controls of the ship, and switched on the auto turrets. One of the ships went down, but two more were still raining fire on him. Suddenly, with a large crunching sound, one of the ships landed on to his. He ran back down the hallway, and saw the ceiling split open. He raised his assault rifle, aimed at the ground below the hole....

Suddenly, his vision began to blur, ears ringing. He touched the back of his armor, and felt blood. Not just any weapon could make a hole through his armor like that....

He collapsed to the ground, the last thing he saw was a small black and white creature with an orange beak...

Chapter 2

Imprisoned:

Everything was dark....

Hawk bolted up, and wildly glanced around. He was in a small white room, containing absolutely nothing. His equipment was gone, and he was left wearing his blue shirt and jeans and black jacket. On one side of the room there was a doorway, covered by glowing blue energy. Hawk took off a shoe and threw it at the doorway, only to have it make a zapping sound and bounce off, landing on the ground with a soft sizzling noise.

He picked it back up, and looked around through the door. He was clearly in some form of prison cell. The air was frigidly cold, he could feel himself shivering. Suddenly, the door to the prison block he was in opened, and several guards began patrolling the area. They were penguins. Short, black and white birds from Earth. But these ones were carrying extremely advanced plasma weaponry, he wasn't even sure the Apex were so advanced. He slumped against the smooth metal wall, thinking, trying to formulate a plan of escape...

Chapter 3

Glitched

A small flap in the wall opened up, and a tray of food clattered to the ground. Stale bread, a glass of water, and some unusual looking alien meat. Hawk nibbled on the steak and drunk some of the water then pushed it aside. He'd been imprisoned for almost three days, and he had an idea. He picked up the steak, and started ripping pieces of, molding it into a slightly more aerodynamic shape. Then, he tossed it through the electric bars, where, across from him, it hit a button. A cell across from him sprung open. He couldn't see it very well, but he heard screams of pain and lots of gunfire.

He spotted a Glitch, quite large, with an exposed brain, and bright yellow. He picked up the plasma rifle from one of the guards, which surprised Hawk, as Glitch were a medieval people, the only projectile weapons they used were bows and crossbows. The Glitch turned to him, likely due to it seeing the steak being flung from the direction of his cell.

"Addressing. You are the one who freed me?"

"Yeah, that was me."

"Questioning. Why?"

"We all deserve freedom, correct? And I doubt you did anything truly bad, these are penguins we're talking about, they're pirates and mercenaries, though I have no idea where they got all this advanced tech."

"Pleased. Yes, you are right. Shall we escape?"

The Glitch hit the touch pad to open the cell, and tossed me a plasma rifle.

"Curious. What is your name?"

"Hawk Novablast, but you can call me Hawk. Supreme Commander of the USCM. Yours?"

"Saddened. The creators called me Fatal Error."

 

You should have called it: Whats Black And White And Wants To rule The Universe

Haha, that's a good title too. Might have to make another story following the end of the Avexstoryline about that

 

Hey penguins take this(Throws egg). Penguins suck!

 

OH MY GAWD!

 

Fun Fact: I got the idea for penguins, because an Avian codex states that penguins were the first children of Kluex, but took a dark path and became pirates and rogues.

Are the penguins going to have personalities or are most of them are just brainless

 

I have a feeling Dreadwing will appear in this...

 

They're hyperintelligent creatures of destruction, they didn't loose a single live during the destruction of Earth, they're a lot more then brainless
