Why are the lanterns different colors and not symmetrically aligned?

 

because the more reddish one is closer to the bed and ensures a better brothel mood cozyness in the bed.

 

I wanted to use both lantern types, and because of the hatch on the top, mirror alignment isn't possible.

I like Lily's answer better though.
