The hunt for Spawners!

Hey all!

So I've been on a quest for spawners since I accidentally killed Pierre, my chef. One thing I've noticed about them is that Spawners come as both randomized and fixed loot.

Case in point (from the "Anyone got Good coordinates they would like t share" thread)

I've checked this one out repeatedly (using world resets) - the same chest consistently produces the Doctor Spawner (and incidentally, my current doctor is a Floran... I wonder what it does with the spare organs...?).

On the other hand, this post from the "Chef Spawner" thread:

Doesn't produce a Chef Spawner despite repeated world resets.

So - my quest to find consistent spawner loot chests continues! If anyone has found a spawner, I'd like to know the coordinates and verify to see if it's a consistent or random spawn!

Confirmed Spawn location:

Tested it 3 times - spawned all 3 times.

Chef spawner is in a chest on a small islet before the miniboss. Nowhere near '5 minutes'.

 

I actually just found a chef spawner yesterday!!! As soon as I get home from school in 6 hours I'll find the planet and I'll post it.

 

Is the bug already fixed where the 3D printer uses up the spawner but won't show up in the list to produce?

 

Not fixed, ScratcH1. I believe it's not supposed to be scan-able but instead eventually we might be able to craft them.

This is a decently sized planet, and I found it in a surface chest to the right of the spawn point. It's not 'too' far, but I found it after circumnavigating the entire planet, so I can't give a reliable estimation.

 

Anyone got any chef spawners? The one I had on my ship just disappeared. I beamed down to do some work on my house, beamed back up and she wasn't there. Maybe she took the escape pod...

 

Is this before or after the apex mini lab, or the cultist camp? Is it in the snow or volcanic biome? I've searched and can't find it. Do you have a screenshot of where you found it?

 

Were you in multiplayer? If so, somebody might have killed her.

 

I was in multiplayer but it's a server I run and there were only 3 other players on it: my fiancee and two of my friends that wouldn't have done it. The same thing happened to my fiancee's doctor spawner, actually.

 

Odd. Do you have anything potentially deadly in your ship? For example, Tesla Coils, Sawblades, Hot Coals.

 

Nah - I actually had just emptied it so I could put furniture in. All I had in there was an avian bed and a few chests.

 

Hey) Was hunting for spawners as-well, got me some tool, doctor and chef spawners(about 4-5 of each). Noticed, that If I'm leaving my pet on a ship alone with any NPC, he WILL kill that NPC(

 

Just a heads up, doctors from a spawner sell red stims for 400 pix, while wizards in wizard towers will sell them for 175 pix.

 

Cheers for info, tho pixels aren't a problem with all the ores you can get from a single planet )

How did you find them? Purely random? T_T I can't find any it seems.

 

You can encounter Glitch wizards(without actual magic powers tho, just in an outfit) on some planets. They'll sell you stimpacks + wizard hat)

 

Yeah, randomly, going from system to system in search for ideal base planet and investigating most of the surface structures.

 

I only know of a Level 10 wizard planet, sorry.
X Qigon, larger desert planet, X = -8, Y = 7, to the right.

 

I've seen tons of post where people claim that every chest is random, or that instruments are random, or this and that are random, and just generally a lot of misinformation about items in chests. From my personal experience (reading through literally every post of the coordinate share thread, checking replies to posted coordinates confirming item locations, and going to coordinates myself to get items I want), the only thing that affects whether an item is static or random is what type of chests their in.

All surface chests will have static loot. This means small primitive chests and large old chests that aren't in a specially generated area ,high-tech chests containing techs, and mini-biome-themed chests (e.g. Rainbow, Mushroom, Geometric, etc.). The only time you won't find the same loot as someone else in these chests is if, for whatever reason, the planet wasn't generated the same, which you can sometimes figure out if someone posts coordinates for a Rainbow cape and you go to that planet and there's not even a rainbow biome (or if someone posts directions like "go right, past the Avian village" and you go around the planet and there is no Avian village).

Any chests that you find inside villages, labs, houses, outposts, sewers, castles, towers, airships, pyramids, and whatever other dungeons that have chests, will have random loot (like the chef spawner in that video, which was found in a Glitch Village).
