Hi guys! The creation of this thread was inevitable. This is a general discussion thread for the human race within Starbound. Discuss the lore, create theories, share stories, and chat with other human players! Do it all here and stuff.

 

Does one have to have a human character to talk about humans?

 

Na, this is just a general human discussion thread. Similar to the Agaran Menace, but we're not planning mass genocide/annihilation

I wonder though... who exactly sent this message to all of the bases? How do we know they had clearance to command every USCM outpost to stand guard, but not help Earth? (I still don't know how to use spoiler tags.)

 

Perhaps General Kale? Or someone who doesn't wish good for the human race and hacked the transmission systems to assure Earth would fall.

At approximately 2200 hours Earth time this station received an unsecured transmission from USCM Central Command indicating that Earth is currently under heavy attack from a currently unknown enemy.

The transmission did not give any details about the enemy or how the battle was progressing. The only orders given were for all USCM outposts and stations to stay put and await further orders.

I will notify everyone the second we receive any further contact - until then your orders are to stay sharp and prepare for the worst. These coming days may be the most important for us as a species. We all need to be at our best.

I think this is about that transmission (Both codexes say it was "unsecured"). So someone USCM central command sent it,it probably doesn't matter. I think the reason not to help Earth was because they didn't want to lose men for a lost cause. After all, the Tentacle beast was attacking from under the Earth, so the battle was practically lost long before the attack.

We don't KNOW they're a human commander, but it is probably most likely, as I doubt they're a Hylotl, they could be Glitch but its unlikely.

EDIT: In my own personal opinion, if they are human, I doubt they're interested in a permanent alliance, but humanity just lost their homeworld, they need some help getting starter out in the universe.

EDIT EDIT: It actually might not be a human, because Greenfinger talked about not knowing if humans had a leader and how they might be good allies, which suggests [REDACTED] might be another race, either the Glitch or maybe a penguin?

 

Well there is a ship named after him, and it is a USCM field book. I'm guessing that the big four are all different races so we have Thornwing (Avian), Big Ape (Apex), Greenfinger (Floran) and [REDACTED]. So the remaining races are Glitch, Hylotl, Human and Novakid. It's not a Glitch because of the way he speaks, it's probably not a Hylotl due to prejudice, Its probably not a Novakid as they would be the worst member of a council in the history of the universe so its probably a Human. I wouldn't be surprised that Greenfinger exploring Humans is how [REDACTED] became part of the group.

Being one of the big four doesn't necessarily make you evil, it means that you're powerful, They're all after the same thing (power) and have very different ways of doing it each with they're pros and cons (mostly cons ). Big Ape is currently the most powerful (at least in his opinion) but hes stubborn and there's only so long the miniknog can protect him, Thornwing seems to have a plan that's coming into action around now while Greenfinger seems to be scheming for the long run (*Humans have entered the game*). Admittedly, the fact that it's name isn't stated makes it sound rather ominous so it probably doesn't want anyone to know its identity, could be someone of great importance, a traitor o'r a penguin.

 

I believe that humans in starbound don't have beards because somewhere along the way the people in control of Earth decided to bring back the old Russian beard tax.

 

[REDACTED] is just blocked information, its not referring to the same person every time...

But yeah it probably is a human. Maybe me. No its not me. Definitely not me. Did I say me?
