Boss: The Herald of the Hungerer Info: The Herald is belived to be an avatar of ...something... that is out there. Where it came from, what it is doing here, whatever it plans, nobody knows. And if anyone knew, they would be long gone. All that is known of it is that it's not native to this galaxy, if not the entire universe as well. And that The Herald is also as aggressive, arrogant, cunning, intelligent and powerful, as it is hungry. And it will gladly consume anyone and anything that is dumb or unfortunante enough to be in its pressence. Or terrefy them to the point of insanity, just for laughs. Despite its appearance, its pressence can only be explained and experienced as completely WRONG, in every sence and meaning of that word. There are many rumors surrounding The Herald, one of them; claims that The Herald is a black hole given a body and a mind of its own. But that only raises the question: What would be powerful enough to give an all comsuming black hole a body and mind? Stats: Health: 42k/42k Energy: 0/10k Defence: Very high Movement: The Herald of the Hungerer can fly and hover over the planet at any altitude whitout any effort, and so can pursue its victim and/or prey indefinitely. it can also teleport to any spot it desires, meaning no matter how much of a safe haven your base might be against other threats, it will still get inside. Attacks: Meele Attacks: Tentacle Whips Bite Spawn Feedlings: The Herald will always start its attack by releasing Feedlings, smaller versions of it that will only try to ram and take a bite out of you. When The Herald is at full health it will only spawn 4 Feedlings, and as The Heralds Health gets lower it will spawn Feedlings more often and more of them as well, up to 20 Feedlings at a time. Eat Feedlings: For every Feedling The Herald eats, it will gain 500 energy, Comsuming Inhalation: The Herald will hover quite a distance directly above you and start to inhale everything that is not properly bolted down, this includes you and its Feedlings. Costs no Energy. Devouring Charge: After backing up or teleporting a distace away from you, it will Charge at you in an attemt to eat/tenderize you. This attack will also eat Feedlings. Cost no energy. When the Herald reaches 10000 Energy, it will start to use these attacks along with Devouring Charge,Spawn Feedlings and Meele Attacks: Lesser Black Hole: The Herald will create a black hole either above, to get you to jump into it, or below you, to keep you from jumping at all. The Lesser Black Hole will be destroyed if it is hit by a meteor Can only be spawned 1 at a time, Last 30 seconds. Costs 2500 Energy. Summon Meteor: The Herald will summon a Meteor to tenderize you, the Meteor will destroy the Lesser Black Hole, or stun The Herald for 10 seconds if the meteor hits the Herald. Can be cast twize, each cast costs 2500 Energy. Comsume Light: The Herald will start to consume the light around itself for an attack. 5 second charge time Scorching Light: If the The Herald has 5000 energy, it will then release the light in a beam clockwise or counter-clockwise. channeled abillity untill energy is depleted. Light Bursts: If the The Herald has less 3000 energy, then it will release the light beam in pulses aimed at you. Each burst costs 500 energy. Drops on Defeat: Feedling pet: watch it run after harmless critters to eat them. May sometimes bite off more then it can chew. Tentacle Whip: Long range Meele weapon. restores health and energy on hits (Yes, you have seen enough hentai to see where this is going) Heart of the Herald: an extremly rare and valuable blood red gem in the shape of a heart, can etiher sold for lots of cash, place it as a bragging rights award, hook it up to some wireing to make it glow an alien glow. and as a material for furniture.(thanks to Chaos_of_Ages for this idea) Teeth of the Herald: The Heralds Teeth that can be used to craft armor, weapons, retrievable ammo for your guns and as materials for furniture. Money: duh. I would enjoy fighting this. Kinda reminds me of Terraria's Wall of Flesh, with the whole idea of releasing small creatures to help it in battle. I have another idea for the teeth, though. In addition to crafting armor, weapons, and ammo, they could also be used to create furniture. I think it would be cool to have a sort of trophy case made of the Herald's teeth, with the heart inside.
Hmm... is this meant to be realistic? 'Cuz I see serious reality discrepancies here.. But, as a fiction device, it's quite awesome. I just recommend you don't make it "the most OP thing ever," because that just makes it uninteresting. Seeing as it can get anywhere, pursue indefinitely, and teleport at will...
glad you like this idea, and I didnt think about making furniture from that the Herald would drop though. I'll add that. the Herald was heavily inspiered from the Eldritch Abominations. I dont really intend for it to be so op, but as a lesser Eldritch Abomination unfortunately makes it borderline op to begin with. Of course I posted this idea for a boss for brain storming to get some better ideas of what it should be able to do and what it cant do.
42000 Life? Lol, the shotgun tiy showed us did like 1-2 damage (Fired 5 times per click, but that just makes 5-10 life). I hope late-game items deal more than that one Tiy showed us in livestream..
Yeah Im thinking about having the Herald as an late/end-game boss. it wouldnt really be good for this game if the Herald was the first enemy the players would encounter. And on a compleatly unrelated note: [derp mode] what? there are late-game items in this game? Since when? I never read anything about that. Now I will never ever come back to this site ever again and i will tell everyone not to buy this game[/Derp mode]

well, i think 'The Herald of The Hungerer' sounds a lot more menacing than 'The Avatar of The Hungerer' as why it has an awkward name is because it is a lesser Eldritch Abomination. and these guys have names that cant be pronunced by mortals.
