Well since SB is all about procedurally generated wepaons wepaons atm get rather random stats, random various visible parts and random specials.

But wouldn't it be awesome we as players can make these weapons fully customised on our own?
So basically choosing how the gun/weapon looks, how its stats are and what specials it has.

That coudl work the following way:

The first requirement is finding a weapon.
The table would be able to dismantle the weapons by choosing either the special ability, one (or maybe all visuals) or the damage stats (damage per shot/swing, energy used and rate of fire). The wepaon in this process is destroyed.

That scanned data gets unlocked in the table for future use.
Each of this parts gets a specific amount of material needed to be crafted.
The player can now enter a design menu, and put these parts together. I think wepaons like rocket launchers have 3 different ones, the Stock, the midle and the Tube. So the player can select those of the unlocked ones and deisgn a new weapon. Ontop he can use a special and a damage value.
Then when having the required materials he is able to craft it.

And then there it is, your personalised and self desigend gun.
Yet these crafting stations will require the player to explore and find other guns or aquire them as rewards from tenants to unlock the parts before being able to put reproduce them.
