So basicly we can port from the teleporting platform to the planet we explore and to our home planet? Long range teleportation? Sounds good, but then I keep thinking how this will work haha. I mean breaking your body down, saving the data of your whole body, mind etc and then recreating it on the ground is complicated enough, long range teleportation over a few lightyears is completly another topic... but yeah game logic ^^

Nontheless a good idea for people having trouble finding their home planet, would appreciate this feature if its added to the game. However I hope at some point they will add a kind of better navigation system. That would allow you to have more then one base, maybe outposts and that ^^

A bit too simple, but nevertheless a working placeholder before better bookmark/navigation is implemented.

It gives you a reason to build a home base that's not on your ship, which I look forward to a lot.

An incredibly simplistic solution. But it will get the job done. I am running out of storage space, and space for every single machine on my ship. But constantly setting up and breaking up a base is to time consuming. But now i can set up a base, with everything there, and put in an effort to make it look cool and never have to abandon it.

I hope in the future we get a means to create a spawnpoint. So we can set a teleporter in our base and perhaps even directly teleport to it from another planet without having to go through our ship first. Another button on the side really wouldnt hurt in my opinion.

It's a good thing, I would really like to see it require some kind of findable/craftable teleport pad to be placed on your home planet to make it a bit more significant.

I really like this idea. I want to build a nice base on a home planet, but the constant back and forth between it and the planets I'm exploring is a huge drain on fuel for me.

Oh please! I'm actually running out of space on my ship. I hope this feature gets added on the next update.

You know, as much as I wanted home planets to actually mean something to the player, this seems like the wrong way to go about doing it.

On the other hand, we're still in beta, and it's a step in the right direction, so I really shouldn't be complaining.

Fantastic! Having to pay that fuel cost everytime you want to go home sucks.

We have now a reason to build on A planet... But the others? Can't we get rid of the sector system?

Love this. Don't like the idea of "Just make going home free" because this is the same as "going home free" without forcing you to go through two loading screens or unnecessarily open the map to go somewhere you're going to be visiting A LOT.

I don't like the idea of being able to teleport to your home from anywhere. Being able to teleport to your friend's ship from anywhere is a necessary gameplay mechanic, but if we're able to beam ourselves instantaneously across the entire cosmos why do we need a ship to begin with? Hopefully this is just a stopgap measure to appease the people who want to build up a base without expending massive amounts of fuel.

You could just make a return home voyage be very cheap. Say a flat 50 fuel from anywhere. I don't know how the FTL in this game is supposed to work, whether it's more akin to Star Trek's warp speed or Star War's hyperspace, but using the Star Wars method it is possible to travel between two points much quicker and more efficiently if you discover a good hyperspace route. That could be the in-game explanation as to why it's so cheap.

Its a nice mechanic to have but there's one thing that i am wondering, How do we weave this in this game mechanic to the lore? Clash's explanation could be one solution

I really like this though it seems a bit too good. The game should make us exist as space nomads for a bit before we gain the ability to craft a link array or some other esoteric endgame item to link our ships to a home base.

For now, we are in beta and I would rather have it be too cheap than not have it at all.

Simple solution that makes sense from a gameplay and lore point of view: at some point early on in the story you acquire a kind of signal amplifier. Place it on the ground and tune it to your energy signature and that planet is now your home. The amplifier allows you to teleport very long distances. It would either be one of a kind or very difficult to make/find to explain why they're not standard issue or just all over the place.

From a real life technology standpoint you could say teleportation is short range because the more you amplify the signal (more amplification = longer range) the more noise you introduce. Too much noise and the signal is lost, AKA you're dead. This amplifier somehow amplifies the signal without introducing noise thereby allowing it to transport you to your ship regardless of where it is.
