Technically you stole it from the artists that made the art for star wars , so since your using it , so can others
I like the idea, and I'm sure many people do too. Having a character that starts off different could make things interesting, as someone had pointed out-- having Don't Starve vibes. But I think the developers have something different in mind: You are the chosen one. You are the one who dared to escape, or the one who dared to leave the safety of your homeland, or the one who had different ideas from the others and wishes to pursue it. In this flavour they've decided that you will grow as you advance your tiers of armor. I'm okay with this whole "everyone-starts-the-same-but-grows-differently" idea. But I'm a bit opposed to the whole "you-get-your-powers-from-your-armor" idea. Why not make it so that upon unlocking a tier of armor and wearing said racial armor, one receives a permanent skill. E.g. You unlock a Tier 1 racial armor as an Avian and wore the armor, you now permanently get a 10% boost in jump or something. You unlock a Tier 2 racial armor as a Glitch and wore the armor, your clock is turned even more backwards and maybe you harvest the things around you faster. Maybe, the others who wishes to fly but isn't Avian need to have the armor on to have the effects and it wears off as soon as they take it off. Eventually, you could become Kluex himself. Or defy time and become the first Glitch in history. Or be the only one to lead a revolution against your oppressors. Or just be a xenophobic threat to the entire galaxy. I 'unno, this could go many ways.
Technically it was stolen from the Galactic Empire who used a combination of designs and blueprints from both the Geonosians and The Maw Facility and had Wookiee slave labour to construct it. But really, that's splitting hairs at this point Anyways, back on topic, with respect to the NPC behaviors: I'm hoping there'll be some mechanic to effectively determine when I'm caught stealing. Not entirely sure how easy it will be in a 2D type game since I've only got 3 directions I can go to elude authorities (4 if I try to dig my way out... "No no no, dig up, stupid!") As fun as it would be to butcher my way out of a situation, I'd much rather rely on stealth, guile and the cunning art of- *points suddenly* LOOK, A DISTRACTION!!! *steals the forum vase and jumps out the window*
hello, maybe you are right. but reading "rpg", "quests" and "story-orientated" from the very beginning raised my hopes for a great depth with a nice different kind of gaming experience with a great NPC interaction, dialouge and more. that the setting of starbound has many ironic and humoristic elements is good for me and I think it could work with a great story and epic quests, when everything fits together well. I mean SPACEBALLS (mel brooks) and its "stupid" story works too. bu now I just think starbound will come out some kind of action-rpg grinder. lets see, what 2014 brings. greetings
One thing I would like is to change the combat system so you don't hit friendlies unless you hold shift. Makes me sad when I can't save an NPC because the monster is right on top of them :'(
Spaceship Dungeons: Very large, size of a planet. http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/dreadnoughts-multiple-uses.31093/ Did they just?
Actually to add on to the racial armors thing if it sticks to the current plan, the other races who wear your armor should be less effective with the abilities given. Makes sense. E.g. (I use Avians too much) Human in Avian armor would fly 5 ft, but Avian in Avian armor would fly 12 ft. Or something.
Somehow, I doubt this is gonna happen... the whole point of the Racial Armor is that everyone can choose their race for the fondness & choose their racial armor choice & never be denied customization choice, & the potentially dreaded 'this race has no choice but to be the Leet choice to play or you have no choice but to suck, to hell with what you would enjoy playing as' effect. The Devs want this effect to have no home within their game.
Status : Glitch wears Glitch armor. Reflexion : the proficiency of organic's armor is not proved. Conclusion : annihilation of organic's race is maintained. Xanglaeus thanks you for the use of the "Glitch annihilation service".
You know what? That makes sense. I'll retract my suggestion. I'll wait for mods to do these then :catface2:
Hopefully something capable of increasing performance because man do NPC's and High Elevation Lag me.
