Maybe on top of those, you could apply multi-player options that prevent other players from destroying tiles, stealing items, and killing NPCs on your ship? Because I've noticed a few occasions where players have been robbed of everything they own on their ships, but they didn't have any back-ups they could utilise to undo the damage. This very much causes the players to go solo on servers, or staying away from them entirely, due to fear that people they don't know will come onto their ship and undo the work they put into it.
Yeah please, disable that other players can rob and blight your ship naked. Even if its just a prototype and the final concept looks different I would appreciate more space in my ship (hahahahahahahaha worst word pun ever).
You can't just keep making the ships bigger and bigger. It's gets ridiculous looking pretty quick. I'd say add a 'door' you enter that leads you to an unseen part of the ship (new screen). Then, you can make it as large as you want with as many decks/levels as you want (hell, even go 3D). I'm not interested in flying around a ship that's larger than the screen.
And this is precisely why this is not a "Beta" release. If there are still that many features to be designed then this is a pre-alpha release. Moreover, I'd just love to be able to play the game on my Windows XP box without it crashing every 10 minutes. Look, I know they said this was a "Beta" and that there would be bugs and future development. I understand that. But I've been a software engineer for over 20 years and you don't call software that crashes this much a Beta. Beta is what you present to the customer as a technological preview of what the final project will be. This is a mostly-playable pre-alpha release and they really should have held off releasing it for at least a couple more months until the crashing bugs were fixed.
That would be actually a more aesthetic solution. I mean if the ship grows in size then it would need more fuel aswell right? So why not adding doors leading into other rooms, thats genious.
I disagree especially if you take this to multiplayer. Just think of the ship wide boarding battles you can have on a ship that big
