Two questions. First: The changelog of the latest version, "Offended Koala", says "tons of new blocks and items to craft". Do I get it wrong or is it the changelog? I see no "tons of new blocks and items". Only four new pixel-crafting items which were craftable before the update, too. Second: Is the game finished when obtaining 77 bars of the black ore? 67 for the armor, 10 for hammer which onehits nearly every enemy. I mean is there something more to see already, maybe on level 10 planets? I have skipped a few level because I always had enough ore to craft everything plus the next upgrade and all the things made out of alloys after 1 planet so I'm not sure if there is anything more to see as there is no further upgrade for the black ore and my hammer is OP like nothing else Ah, and you should add some kind of cooldown to the blink tech. It's only a matter of seconds to explore a whole planet. Same for gravity bubble, endless flying makes no fun and makes the special avian armor effects pointless (for the future)
As far as I know, there was a gravity system already planned, if not implemented, but it's on hold because of occurring problems with platformer puzzles in dungeons (different jumping curves make these puzzles either too easy or too hard). Until they found a solution for this, there won't be any gravity differences, at least not on planets with dungeons on it.
I don't know about this as it depends on the players plays-style. I mean even in wow I had 16 or 17 top level toons as I preferred the questing and the story over raiding. With Starbound being so random and even more bits being added in the future it really could easily play to its strengths - making every play through unique and random. This aspect of any game is easily just as important as any endgame content to me. I find it quite fun restarting characters trying out different races, forgeing a different path, trying things in different orders to see what effects they have etc. I don't think i've been to any world other than my homeworld more than once so far in the beta and i'm slowly working through sector X now unlike some of my friends who are already there building planetary bases.
Everything, it's to prevent incombatible item and balance issues with the newer versions. so it requires a full wipe.
I think THAT should be in the first position of the list, having a stable built with good FPS (not asking for perfection but stable, optimization comes later) rather than adding stuffs. This will make the testing process more enjoyable.... and some of us will actually be able to test eh! Edit: Forgot to tell that i'm very pleased to see what Starbound will looks in the future. Great game so far!
"Dramatic Planet Modification: Not going to be implemented any time soon. Ability for players to modify huge chunks of planets through things like orbital bombardment; removing the entire first layer of a planet and leave behind a lifeless surface." Oh god I would love it if this happened. Even if it took forever for it to be released I would love a feature like this.
"Villager AI: Villagers will aggro when you steal from them and follow you more aggressively." .... Floran ssstab and take ssshinies anyway? Floran like ssshinies. Need them for ssship and home planet.
Monster Generation: Right now, monster parts just have stat boosts, but eventually rolled monster parts will affect their behavior and abilities. For example, monsters with spider legs can climb walls; fiery monsters inflict burning. You might get a burning spider dropping on you from the ceiling. Projectiles may be tied to specifically generated heads. Biome may influence monster part generation. Yesssss
Colourblind mode!!!! No, that's not all I took out of this post ... but it's definitely got me creaming ^_^
I can't wait to test some of these, mainly the spawn point resetting because i found an awesome pirate ship on a world but i'm forced to walk to the other side of the world in order to get there because of the set spawn
