i think there should be customizable mechs with rocket launchers and miniguns as well as other vehicles like plane types

and craftable weapons like a crafting station basicly

yeah look pixels to advance is shit as soon as you hit a certain metal you dont need shit off ahem any metal in starbound (maybe your all lazy but i have no shortage of any metal) pixels are limitless so getting pixels for quests not an issue but very dumb and unsatisfying why im paying to advance when im on my own in space is beyond me from a story point of veiw. you, should be able to leave star systems in anyway you wish if you cant survive the planet dont go down but where are you supposed planet scanners i dont see them anywhere so you never know whats on the surface really till you go. Hating this one system till teir ten shit btw space is epic you just shrank it feel big and dont get me started on all this ship boarding wickedness i aint seen any of not that i'd wanna board someones ship just yet as they all look the same i know you prolly want people to build on planets but the fact is people want to build and mod their ship as thats what travels with them pretty much at all times i dont build on planets as im just going to leave when i have eaten all the resources why build a base when i can situate all i need on board my ship process and create what i need up there undisturbed then return or move on to a harder planet

in other note you have been pledged an insane ammount of money and your working on other project and starting new teams we didn't pledge so you could go running around london recruiting for a new game we pledged so you would get this out quicker and not reneg on half the stuff you promised us before we all gave you our money.

and a word of warning do not go the way of minecraft who plays that now tekkit is out ?????

congrats guys, really looking forward to the new updates.

Just a couple problems you might want to look into if your attempting to make a game with some competitive edges (sector x )

You would have to clean up the mods a bit, especially those like cheat box, proguns, and the free item spawner. So long as players (like myself) can get access to top tier or beyond top tier weaponry for little to no cost to ourselves, PvP will always be unbalanced in our favor. Custom mods (especially custom modded guns) present the same issue.

I'm not complaining, personally i'd love to sneak around invisible (see camera man helmet) and knife other players in the back for 10 billion damage, but it might not be conducive to a large scale community.

For these pvp servers, you might have to keep people from bringing modded items into the game, as a minimum.

If your going to go down this road though, i'd like you to cannonize a few mods. In particular the Lava/water guns. I love those items, and they are my favorite building tools in the entire game. The fish pickaxe (sharknado?) is pretty good too. great for clearing out large areas of land, but it doesn't give you items from the mining, so its surprisingly fair.

Perhaps, but the beta is available now. It's actually really good as it is, and they keep adding more and more with every update.

Even after the game is "complete" and the full version is released, they'll probably continue to add content.

Starbound really needs to be fused with the fully customizable mod

I'm actually more interested in the ship upgrades to be honest. I like having planned structure then custom since I can't really work out complex builds very well.

Unless they also added an option where you could choose the default or custom at character creation.

I've donated to this project, Starbound. It has really taught me a few lessons in pre-ording and backing. While I don't have a problem with chucklefish or the people working there, it let me realize that even though I backed the project I have little to no direction on the actions of the publisher of which I paid my money. It saddens me but at the same time teaches me a valuable lesson. The fact that we have feature creep with a multi million dollar pixel game should be an eye opener. This game is going to promise many, many things. But will only release a fraction at launch. This will definitely be the last game I back or pre-order.

Only time will tell what is release at launch, not you. In my opinion, you should never expect to have a real influence on the creative process. That said, I can understand your disappointment

That really is the nature of pre-order and backing beast, and it being a multi-million dollar project has NOTHING to do with it being slow development, a common misconception is you can snap you're fingers and a game is made, games still take time to make.

Not really looking forward to how the new End Game is going to play out. How will that work for single players? I have no interest in fighting others or making an in-game organization.

form your own "guild", be the only member and go to sektor x ...

look at cube world.. i bought it at "beta release", downloaded one crappy update and now it's dead. well, actually it's not dead but the developer does his job so damn slow that nobody will be interested when it's done. maybe in 10 years or something. to give you an example: i deleted it after 4 weeks playing (needed space), forgot it for a year or more, remembered again then and checked for updates .. it was still the same unchanged project without any updates or news on what is going to happen next. i was hoping and i am still hoping that starbound wont disappoint me like that did.

Same, I'm no multiplayer player, I was once one back in the 2006 where i stopped. That is now over 10 years ago :) Playing single player is very amusing and wonderful and that is very fun. Hope there will be many many contents for the single player to do later on, with hundreds of new quests and thousends of new bosses, that would be neat :)

    You.. this is sick :gooby:

Honestly, I don't think Starbound will be finished before 2016. I think Chucklefish will not disappoint us but really, and I say this without any anger, I just don't believe that they manage to implement all the things that are still missing AND all the ideas that might come up while developing plus bugfixing and suggestions within one or two years. If you look at Starbound like at ice-cream, all what we have is the waffle and everything sweet is to carefully put on top - and we are the overweight, annoying and very hungry kid waiting for it. It will take a looong time until everything is perfect.

I'm very happy to hear that you guys are working on a new game. Chucklefish seems to be growing.
To be honest, first time I saw Starbound, I thought it would die like most of other indie games. Then, a year later you guys came up with stuff like steam early-access and fast updates.
    Good luck!
