You're not serious are you? You didn't need to solve puzzles, beat minigames, collect useless quest items, negotiate or gain knowledge in your entire career of gaming? Did you just pay your ticket to the next monster or just flexed your muscles enough to beat it? What kind of games are you playing?

My idea would be for you to be able to create large amounts of autonomous (but also controllable) NPCs that can build fight and collect resources on your behalf. This could really help expand the potential of the game by allowing you to truly colonize planets. Set up mining building military and industrial outposts throughout the galaxy. And that you could drop/create NPC units on an enemy planet and set them to attack/destroy any and all enemies/enemy buildings (Depends on what your commands are). And I would also really like to see some sort of super weapon you could craft that is capable of destroying an entire planet, and leaving it in a state similar to that of a nuclear waste land. E.G a Nuke lol. Or something along those lines. These are all just general ideas that the devs have probably thought of anyhow. And may or may not be planning to put into the game at some point anyway. But I thought it couldn't hurt to put them into perspective, right?

So long as the single player option isn't removed from this game...

PvP or not, I'm really not a fan of the multiplayer in this game, unless it's with people I already know, in a private server.

Ambitious, and a new game... PLUS pvp for planets, This game is turning out to be quite a gold medal, unlike it's other counterparts.

    Hello, welcome to the forums.

Please do not multi-post after your own post, use EDIT instead.
Good question, but might cause some arguing. Remember: Starbound improves many ideas present in Terraria and perfects them, but it, unlike Terraria, is still in beta.

I remember Director Mode being announced some time ago, very interested in seeing its implementation.

Great job so far guys!:iswydt: I really like that pirate game idea as well. if it were me designing the pirate game, I would make it just as pixely as Starbound. Just my opinion there. Anyways good job!

    I have a question.
Will you be able to go down two skills at once example( pirate/tomb raider or builder/farmer)?

If I play on a Starbound server with different jobs and stuff, I would like to be a bounty hunter. Hunting down pirates to ensure a safer universe, like Samus Aran. Except maybe not quite as awesome.

So .. if we consider that farmers and adventurers alike will most likely be on the move all the time in order to earn pixels, does that mean when I decide to earn a living by renting houses, I'll have to keep building more or will I just receive periodic income by default?

If all of this is implemented properly, then this'll be my new time consumer

    My... God!

This was a good read, looking forward to much of the progress to come. Though, I gotta say, it really has not been difficult to get pixels :/

Despite there being a penalty when dying, with a compressor and refinery, as well as plentiful ores found in high tier planets, I see more of an abundance of pixels that compensates for difficulty in the game (if any).

When you upgrade armors and weapons, and are careful while exploring, it is pretty easy to get things done. If anything, I am looking forward to more storage for stoof that I
salvage from all of these planets.

Back on topic though, I am glad to see how far ahead that the devs of this game are planning for updates and content. Wish more modern games would practice this fundamental game development standard.

Keep up the good work! :D

Well, of course Starbound lets you mod freely, but how about people who don't know how to code in C++? Could there be a sort of "easy mod dev kit?"
Also, the idea of multiple sectors on one starmap is cool, but what if black holes could be used as "shortcuts?"
    Just a few thoughts :D

I couldn't agree more with this statement. What is being described to me is an almost entirely new game. A way better game, but a new game.

This makes me wonder what the road map percentages were based off of. I apologize if I misinterpreted this, but I was under the impression that this signified the completion of the entire game. I am also assuming that these new features have been a part of the plan from the beginning, though.

I realize we have been warned through the description of the various beta stages, but: so far I feel as though a better investment would have been the 1% interest in my checking account.

Still, I very much appreciate the development teams hard work. Their ideas seem great and I wish them the best.
