it is not unreasonable to ask someone to work nights. it is not as if the team members involved were not involved of their own violation. sometimes, a job will require you to work at times when you just dont want to. such is life.

yes, i do understand all of this intimately. i've spent a fair amount of time on the other side of the world, myself.

and if you ask me, working nights is a far less invasive solution than "move to london". let's be serious here. even a temporary move.

I love all the new changes, and look forward to each and every one of them. Becoming a vegetable farmer/landlord/pilot/adventurer is exactly what I wanted out of this game.

That being said, I have one issue, but it's not with the game, or the devs.

If you don't like the idea of something following a predictable path, then you should really stop going to theaters to see the same movies over and over again, even more so with the recent influx of remakes. Things follow a predictable path because these paths are well-tested and proven to give results. Would you go see a romantic comedy about a pathologist and a domestic abuse counselor? Only if you're in training to be a serial killer. We as humans have come to expect certain things, and these things are played out in different flavors, but are ultimately the same. White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen are the same movie, but one is more somber in tone, while the other plays off of a comedian's performance. Guess which one had better results?

All i'm saying, I say out of love. We ALL want this game to succeed, and some of us are voicing our concerns, and that is perfectly fine. It's natural to have concerns. However, to imply that everything sucks and the sky is falling because of, not an implemented feature, but the mere IDEA of such a feature, is speculative, and unnecessary. Give them a little credit.

Yes, this is invasive. But it's not STUPID AS HELL (the notion I initially replied to). There is a considerably big benefit to get people to move together. Seeing how they are set to continue to work together, this will be more beneficial in the long run.

i disagree. i see no need to require such invasiveness as 9 people moving to one of the most expensive cities to live in the world. i see no need to spend money on office space in one of the most expensive cities to do so, in the world, when the same effect can be achieved with teleconferencing and requiring employees adhere to work schedules.

to do such things, in my view, is indeed such a bad idea that it can be properly labeled "stupid as hell", there are no benefits i see for the vast expenditure of resources. i would much rather see the money be put towards lengthening the support for starbound, and supporting a good deal of the development of what comes after starbound.

Look, I get that you apparently hate this game, and while that is PERFECTLY fine regardless of what others might say, I don't see why you continue to post on these forums insulting or arguing what other people think or feel other then to try and stir up a reaction of some kind that I am assuming is most likely negative. Honestly if you hate the game so much, then stop posting on the forums and let people have their fun while you go and have fun elsewhere playing some other game that is not a "waste of money." Again, the feeling you have for this game is perfectly valid and I myself am not as fully entertained by this game as I had originally hoped, so I can understand being disappointed by your purchase.

I've heard scary things about the Steam Workshop Modding scene from Skyrim... like Skyrim Steam Workshop Mod Users using Mods from there, then having the Mod(s) pulled by the Author, screwing up the game of those who were previously using those Mods... D:

Race Armor Set Bonuses haven't already been implemented? All this time I thought my Glitch Armor Set was making me dig faster... have I Placeboed myself?

Nope, ya can spend money to 'rush production' in certain games, but not in RL... in RL, there's only 24 hours in a day to Code with no matter what. & RL peeps need to eat & sleep unlike Video Game Civs & such too :p

Last I heard, Ship Combat was gonna be a Post-Release Feature.

Doubt it will be listened to, but they really should /near/ finish their first bigname game before working in any fashion or planning towards a second.
If there is a pre-order for it, defiantly going to wait and see the finished product, unlike Starbound.

Really seems like their pushing towards to many goals and to many directions. With the game and as a company. If you try and do everything or make the game that does everything, you excel at nothing. Don't get me wrong, having lofty ideals is great but the reality is far different usually.

They're pretty much promising the game of the century from what we have.. while juggling taking on another team/opening-an-office/ect. That is.. somewhat hard to believe.
Despite Tiy saying not to be concerned, I find quite a few spring to mind regardless.

Game is heading in a very good direction. You have no idea how happy I am to hear Director Mode is coming our way. And the more I hear about forming organizations and being able to add people to them and colonize worlds officially (not just building a hut on them) the better!

Looks tremendously exciting in the pipeline! Director mode sounds pretty nifty too. Great to hear Team Chucklefish and Co finally getting their very own office space! You guys have deserved every ounce of it! Let there be cake!

you seem to not have understood any of what i posted. is english your native language?

you seemed to have missed several times when i have said explicitly that i do like starbound. my "negativity" has a very specific purpose. i want starbound to do well, and be quite fun for everybody. i want chucklefish, as a company, to be successful. in order for those things to happen, any flaw in what they have been/currently are/will be doing needs to be pointed out so that it can be considered and corrected.

this is not about "letting people have their fun". i have never said that starbound is a "waste of money". this is not about stirring up a reaction. if someone refutes my points, i will give reasons why i either agree with, or disagree with the argument used against me. that is generally how a discussion works.

it appears that starbound is simply a means of acquiring funding so tiy can fund his dream of becomeing a major publisher. :( "a house built on sand cannot stand"

I love what they are doing with Starbound. I love CF's open relationship with the fans and modders. Its really cool that they are respecting the modder's ideas and what they can add to the game and make it official. There are a lot of very talented employed programmers and hobbyist that are just pumping out quality mods and CF is smart enough to realize that active use of forums and social media can lead to Starbound to be more than we thought it could be. On the flip side it has to be rather annoying on their end to deal with strong opinions of their planned game mechanics. I bet if they had forums when NES Ninja Gaiden was in beta, people would be complaining up a storm. It will be great to see CF grow in the future as a studio, the big move is a great start. Any growing company needs a home base since nothing is better than face to face interaction with your co-workers. I look forward to giving Chucklefish more of my money in the future.
