First off, I love the high tax on the banking that's going to be added, but it gave me an idea for a side-quest line. Actually have the bank set up in the lore of the world as this corrupt corporation that has monopolized the galaxy and is really the only bank around, forcing everyone to pay massive taxes on all deposits. This also extends out to the player. Through a series of long quests, you can eventually get the bank set up under new management that reduces the tax rate. OR, if you want to get fancy, the quest could branch at the end and you can choose between two people to take over the bank: One reduces the tax percentage, and the other raises it (but you get money over time as a result). Thoughts?
You're the first person I've heard call it a tax... I'm fairly certain the reason you lose pixels is because they're lost in compression.
My favorite part of any strategy game is always messing with market forces. I would laugh myself silly if there were an NPC that could affect the economy of pixels named Gohn Jalt. Nice suggestion!
Very imaginative. I love the idea, game needs more quests and this would be a very cool idea. If the penalty is due to the pixels being lost in compression like Clockwork said, then obviously a quest-line for better compression technology is in order
I really like that idea - if compression is a technology, why can't you upgrade it? If I remember correctly, it's currently a 20% loss rate, so you could offer three tiers of upgrades beyond that which reduce that rate by 5% a pop. If you put in the time and effort to max it out, which shouldn't be easy by any means, you can eventually work your loss down to nothing, or next to nothing.
Well, my suggestion is less about lowering the cost and more about an interesting backstory behind the whole thing, but that would just be the benefit of completing the quest line.
