The enlightened are an ancient race, what they originally looked like is somewhat of a mystery but they seem to share features of birds and insects, however, as their species has long evolved beyond the need for physical bodies and they dont seem to want to talk about their biological ancestry, nobody knows for certain. History, what is known: at one point, the enlightened were a biological species they inhabited a moon of some gas giant, they had plagues famines...the kind of things most species had to go through, again not much is known about the enlightened ancient history, it is known that they tended to be ingenius and found bizarre solutions using technology. they eventually overcame hunger, poverty, war, and by that point they began to enter the next stage of evolution, as androids, it is at this point that the enlightened began developing psychic powers as well, telepathy was done through directly connecting their brains with radio signals allowing faster communication, they first stepped to the stars at this point in starships that were actually people. they spread out across the galaxy and founded an early galactic civilization known for freedom and diversity. they however, were enemies of the race that the avis worshiped as gods, and fought a war in which entire stars were destroyed. after the war, terrified by the destruction they had caused, many of the enlightened transcended to a higher plane of existance never to be heard from again. however, the ones left behind continued technological progression. they experimented with new bodies for a few thousand years, they appeared as spherical balls that could manipulate force fields rather than using hands, and eventually they ditched the balls and simply became intelligent forcefields, many among them have however created bodies which utilize forcefields combined with biological material, only a few million of this race are left, the rest are either time traveling quantum computers, living in a utopian universe with different laws of physics, contemplating 392242802 dimensional space time, or more bizarre hobbies. Technology: the enlightened main technology involves manipulation of magnetic and gravitic fields to produce pseudomaterial force fields, they require high amounts of energy to create physical objects but essentially, this technology can be used to convert energy to matter. usually however, the pseudomatter does not last long and quickly decays because it is not very stable, making stable pseudomatter requires high amounts of training. the enlightened also have high tech computer and sensor technology which allows them to scan other peoples brains and with magnetic manipulation, transmit telepathic messages or fry the brain. while traveling in space, an enlightened appears as a tiny glowing ball, they are the inventors of what other species called "teleporters" objects which scan a pattern and copy it to some other location, they use these to store bodies as data and then teleport them along with the glowing ball to their destination. enlightened weaponry includes psychic weapons, plasma missiles, and gravitational weapons. Modern culture: the enlightened are intelligent wanderers, exploring the galaxy, they interact with one another in ways that human beings cannot comprehend and often have bizarre motives, they tend to be very determined to have their way as they view other species as animals, luckily, the enlightened believe strongly that despite our lack of any kind of intelligence that they can classify as sentient, we are like children and perhaps one day will be equals to the enlightened. Clothing: the enlightened generally wear different clothing around different races, around humans they wear mysterious looking robes, around avis, they wear colorful ceremonial armor around the floris, they generally have a plant like appearance and so on. Apparence: depending on the gender, "Humanoid" or "ball" form, gender is obsolete to their species. the humanoids look like glowing humanoids of bright colors, they have nothing resembling a face and have antenna and a field of glowing gas eminating from their bodies, they have digitigrade legs. the ones that look like balls look like...floating balls of light and use force manipulation technology to hold weapons and wear armor, essentially when wearing armor they appear as walking empty suits of armor. some of the humanoids possess robotic parts of their bodies which they wear almost like armor.
