The Echrius Horror is annoying without stimpacks.

    Or at least to me...
Since I chose to have the Pulse Jump over the energy dash.
I really need to start timing my shields better...Or at least stop getting hit by one of those annoying mutants in the middle.
(I'm playing through as a felin now, btw.)

Really just need to be patient and remember to shield. It's okay to just run in a circle around it as long as it takes.

    Oxidis Hey, You!

I managed to beat the boss on my first try although it was my second attempt of the mission (first attempt I got killed by the stronger moontants and I had no techs). I found that boss trickier than the other three because its beam was hard to avoid and did lots of damage.
If you're stuck on that boss, try getting both Energy Dash and Pulse Jump techs so you can move around faster. The Energy Dash is particularly useful for moving across horizontal surfaces like the top and past the moontants at the bottom. Bring bandages and use them a lot. A prolonged battle isn't necessarily bad so you don't have to get the switches as quickly as possible. Just wait for the openings between attacks.

The beam can be blocked with a shield or great sword. Its a good last resort shortcut if you need it.

Greatsword works wonders there as shield only offers unlimited block time for limited block demage while greatsword blocks unlimited demage for limited time. So you can even cross the beams with it (but seriously don't ever cross the beams! )

Is this a safe space? Can I admit that when I played it, before the most recent update, there was a glitch where if you managed to get two shots off at the monster and then died, the first shot's progress was saved, so it was possible to cheese it?
I cheesed it. Hard. Please don't judge me.

  7. Nowhere in that room is really safe. The best strat is simply to run as quickly as you can from switch to switch, and parry or block the beams as you pass through (you still might get hit, but it's only ever once so the damage is minimal).

If you stick to the outer walls you can flick every switch before it even begins attacking, just make sure you don't move the camera over the boss or attack it with a normal weapon.
For one of my characters, the game would crash every time the beams started, so I ended up resorting to using commands to disable the block protection and just mined the door blocking the exit.
Don't worry, I deleted any blocks I obtained through this afterwards.

Without any of my invincible armors that I spawned in, it did take kinda long lol but even without stimpacks you can literally just run in circles. Takes a while, but it works!

disinterest. timing bosses are usually kind of a chore, at least you don't have to trick it into charging the laser somehow.

Use a shield or broadsword, you should have one by this point..
Just be patient and move when it's safe. Remember to heal yourself.
The beams don't move very fast so you can usually move in circles.

Also the top and bottom are safe spots on the last stage.

And the sides, at the outermost part.

Honestly, the corners are probably the LEAST safe, especially when the Horror traps you there and you can't really react and there goes your shield and then-

First post here, for me bubble was actually the most important tech to defeat that boss, whenever the lasers chase you off to the side just jump down holding space and f, no worry about fall damage.

The level took me so many tries to the point when I was on the verge of rage-quitting, good luck on beating the boss.

Its possible to not aggro the boss as you come down if you hug the walls. From there i can set up the first shot without a peep from the crystal by flipping the switches on the left, then going up and around the boss for the switches on the right.

If you are having trouble traversing the beams, you can get through on the sides by dropping through the floor. use gravity to help limit the amount of time you're in contact. Im going to try it again to see if there is still a safe zone for the third pattern.

Don't the beams only do like 20 damage on steel armor? I just bandaged my way through.

That's like 20 per tick. TICK!

    2 words. great sword.

the deflect lasts the 1 second a beam passes over you then is recharged by the time the second one hits.
    also, I LOVE your signature.

We're going to look into balancing the horror again. We've recently made it a lot easier but people are still reporting it as a point they're getting completely stuck. We're trying to be careful to not just outright remove the challenge however.
