I started on a world that had no trees, mushrooms instead of trees that i cannot make doors out of. to my left is a temple filled with hostile aliens with guns, and to my right, the same thing. and this is just starting! the distress beacon summons a boss that is nearly impossible to fight even with the best equipment i could find on the planet.

Hahaha - Talk about an evil start. Well there's not much to say other than "RNG is a bitch", sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.

Oh - And you are NOT supposed to fight the UFO this early on. It is the final step before going to the next sector, not next planet. It will still be hard when you have crafted the best gear possible available to you.

    Unlucky (Or Lucky) home planet.
I would feel great if I had a home planet with multiple dungeons already.

If you don't have any trees try to find some coal and get to a jungle or forest planet to get wood.

These kinds of posts have been made many many times, it's the first stage of the beta, they already said it's the buggiest and there will be balance changes, so please stop making these posts.

Find one piece of wood or coal, put it in your fuel tank and go to a different planet.

  7. This. I dont know if you knew this or not, but fuel requirements to hop from planet to planet in the same orbiting system are very low. Maybe ten fuel or something.

The OP, though, is not informative or objective. As far as feedback goes it's terrible.

Any feedback is good feedback. A developer can easily look at this thread and go, "Maybe new players shouldn't be totally at the mercy of luck to have a good starting experience."

But this thread doesn't feel like an issue of people complaining about it being beta. This thread is a thread about someone mentioning that they started on a rather unlucky planet that doesn't give much in the way of things (Mainly trees).

Don't just keep jumping to 'this is Beta' when the thread is -- for the most part -- NOT about complaining about it being beta.

It's never pointed out anywhere how the fuel system works, or that you can even use wood as fuel.

you're not actually supposed to take the UFO on until you're up to a level 10 planet (or, after the difficulty overhaul, at the very end of level 1 planets). the game just doesn't communicate that to you very well. it also doesn't communicate very well that all you need to do to get to a new planet if the one you're on was generated too punishingly is dig up some coal, stick it in your ship and find another level 1 planet to try. sooo the problems you're having are more that the game doesn't tell you what to do early on very well right now. get off that planet! if you're in silver-ish armor, go try a level 5 or 6 planet, start upgrading yer stuff to gold. look around in the useful coords thread for a planet with a gun merchant on it.

  13. Regardless, if you have wood or coal it can be used as fuel. It's probably on a wiki somewhere.

The mothership isn't hard with the best gear available. What gear were you using..? I beat it in seconds with a level 10 sniper whilst wearing snow armor.

Being a beta, you should expect a lot of information to be missing ingame. Minecraft was just as much of a mess back in the day, which sparked the Wiki.

You can't seriously believe this, can you? The OP doesn't even include coordinates or even a name so the devs can look at the planet in question for themselves.

Snow armor isnt supposed to be as powerful as it is yknow  But even still its not that hard. gold armor + lvl 10 2h sword won the battle for me. and a healthy supply of bandages and red syringes.

Even without snow armor. It dies in a few hits from a level 10 sniper & it's attacks are pretty easy to dodge provided you never give it chance to spawn loads of penguins.

I believe it pretty well, yeah. Even a post that says "x feature is no fun" is completely serviceable feedback. There are ways to give better feedback, of course, but even non-specific feedback can be useful.

For example, this planet probably isn't the only level 1 planet that didn't generate favorably for new players. Maybe starting them off on a random level 1 planet isn't the right way to go about things? Maybe they need to hand-pick starting planets? There's a lot to go on based on what you perceive as "useless" feedback.

I still feel snipers are too easy to acquire & make melee redundant. One shot almost anything at range & kill bosses in seconds without it getting close. Just search a couple planets till you find an anchor on your left of the spawn & for the cheap price of a little less than 800 pixels you got yourself an easy game. The energy cost on those things should be way more punishing.
