I would put my base at the opposite end of the landing zone and fill the area in-between with mines. If we can still fly our ships around on the surface, then I'll just have a very small space of air not filled with air mines.

I like it. But I think that it needs some more though. If this isn't thought through it could end up just being a terrible pain in the arse.

wow I guess I miss this post ages ago. Well that is not cruel...I tell what is cruel, have napalm with it. Poison gas+ airborn napalm=*KABOOM* Who ever survived close to outside radius, they be burn, have intoxication gas, and have part the limbs burnt off. *off the topic* Which This "Has" been in the real world, but not landmines, bunch sciences guys developed drop, multiple bomb drop which its large rocket drop babies bombs and thous babies bomb hit the floor it explode, then the Big Mama hit the ground it make a big bang. Of course the trees, or whatever is a stick can make a dud out of them, cuz they were string up into Big Mama. If ur wondering why U.S.A don't have this? They had, they just banned for the whole world not to use in warfare. Innocent had die from it of accident of it.

Anyway, yea that land mine Poison gas + Airborn napalm does work a lot for it is nice combo, but ruthless and cruelty landmine ever be developed in the game. Soon, I won't be surprised they start developing that idea in real life. From the view, sometime discovering its deadly power can bring destruction and your greatest mistake. I can be weapon designer in real life, but my nature is stick with it in the game, it make it easy instead going paying death rolls what I've done.

Terraria already had traps. If they put landmines in the game, it will most likely also be a generated trap.

That's actually what I had in mind with this post - mines that generate with the terrain. However, mines that can be set by players would also be a good idea.
