Race The Comodians of the Genko Empire

( They aren't just blue in color and they're playable )

Comodians inherit their name through what society has labelled them through history. While living in a constant struggle and under excruciating inferiority complexes of other races around them, the Comodians strive through their ambition of innovating clean and abundant uses of natural energy. Unlike other organisms that root themselves to their environments, the Comodians often live in pods of mobile ships that are manufactured to tract down various ecosystems for their research and experiments. ( Concept art will be available for those ships )


Despite their success in inventing technology, their innovative perspectives are often refuted by other races such as the Avians that put their faith in a divine being rather than science. Comodian ideologies are also often challenged by other races due to their resistance to theories of divine creation. Comodians believe their environment as a economic carousel of give and take while they are responsible for their actions as a creature that roam the earth. This belief often conforms their technological advances in a positive way which are admired and sometimes envied by humans.


Comodian Technologies are suited by 2 diverse organizations in the Genko Empire. The very first establishment developed by their society since the construction of the "Terracota" is The Terracottian Order that is in charge of refining energy uses and making sure that each environment their empire inherits fit the healthy criteria. On the other hand, The Spadian Order ensures that the republic stays on a positive political platform and that constitutional changes accommodate the citizens of Genko while suiting their secular views. The Spadian order is also in charge of the militia that ensures complete extermination of foreign threats and incoming invaders. Unlike most brutish militants, Spadian soldiers are mostly well developed spies and masters of stealth combat.

Atomic Blunderbusses are infamous range arsenal managed by the Spadian Militia, while known to deal devastating results to enemy organisms, the toxicity of these firearms are kept at a minimal level. The frontier Blunderbuss eventually branched out to various atomic energy efficient models that were structured machine guns, rifles, rocket launchers and even missiles or destructive bombs. (Not a special trait, just a built in suggestion that will inspire more items/weapons that every race can use. (The Comodians aren't scrooges with their technology.)

The Dredges is a stealthy forms of transportation use for biological research, scouting and to penetrate enemy structures for valuable information. The Dredge models are branched into different uses though managed by the Spadian Militia.

Comodian Fashion takes on an oriental look that gives an exotic and provocative impression.

Artist statement~

I am absolutely sure people have submitted a lot of reptilian race suggestions but I didn't want them to be "native." I want them to be a structured society with a very diverse political ground just like any highly developed empire while linking their lore with other races. In addition, I know some people will dislike their colorful aspect but I feel that they need to be the absolute contrary of Starbound antagonists, hence their more stylish and genuine looks.

Also, this is my first post on this community and I'm sure I'll be making more wall of texts as well as my artwork in the future.

 

Nice. This would probably be the first race I played, if it were to be included. Excellent artwork, by the way.

A nice well layed out idea, that I think would fit in starbound nicely and it has a great story and what not too it.

 

Honestly, I don't see the reason to do first picks. After all, we should be encouraging players to experience every race and its unique values which is why I suggested items that are exquisite to this race but are obtainable by any player of any preference.

 

Yes I understand I don't understand were you stand with your arguement, but if it was unclear I love this idea but there is one that I like better. I that wa better worded thats good because I ment no disrespect.

 

My point was that I dislike the idea of "nit picking" your first race.

 

Well I'm sorry it was meant as a good representation because it is my 2nd favorite race out of them all (custom). So how about we stop filling your page with arguements this happens and it is not cool, so lets be done with that and argue about the topic. I also have some questions: What common material is used to make their weapons, and what colors do they come in? I also changed my first post so it doesn't say that anymore.

 

Since we're talking about guns handling a large portion of atomic fire power, we wouldn't be hinting any ideas that this gun would be made of the generic raw material that any normal Beretta would inherit. Instead, I'd say the chambers of most Comodian guns would be fiber glass coated obsidian as obsidian itself is a metamorphic material. Also, on top of that, a lot of gunsmiths and weapon engineers focus on their cultural aspects of their artistry and would put a thin layer of metal on top of the guns' chambers to carve out designs representing their culture which brings us to the colors of (black, shades of yellow, green and blue). Basically, these colors would be observable on the skin of most leopard geckos you'd see in forests.

Other parts of the gun like the handle would contain a lot more common materials that can handle the weight and pressure point of the chamber and so we would be regarding raw materials such as brass and polymers. Of course the rocket launchers would contain layers of these ingredients creating an incredibly heavy gun weilded by the more highly built soldiers.
