Yeah, that is sort of the risk you run when you provide a link to dead threads. I'm not asking you to stop, but maybe say if the thread is dead when you post the link.
As far as i know there isnt any anti necro rule in this forum, aside of the one the users theirselves make, so i wont revive this thread, but i wont also stop people from doing it. After all, if people see there is a good idea relating what they wanted to suggest, they wont suggest it maybe, and the forums wont clog up as much.
Well, it wasnt made on purpose, and, half quoting the developers, theres no force in this world that will make every single person on the forums who checks this look at the date of latest post.
I really like the idea ! It can bring so much realism into the game. Also, i think the system can be different depending of the planet and the eco-system !
As long as this doesn't become a grief-nuke. Example: That one troll friend you've got on the server who keeps dropping random creature he's discovered on remote locations of your home planet. By the time the unbalance in the eco system reaches your home base, the damage may be too severe. Look at what the Kane toad did to Australia!
I like it, but then the game has to keep all this data (their hunger and stuff) on each animal, and idk how much lag that could cause. Not to mention the fact that they have to make a new food-seeking behavior. It would be neat though.
You can protect your homeworlds from griefing, but that is an fact, not an suggestion. While lag is certain, it would only have to keep hunger in planets used, and it could be an toggleable option in servers or singleplayer worlds.
This could be awesome, just watching a huge amount of animals zip by you, then you go where they came from, and there is a bunch of predator animals just attacking the ones left behind.
