Prof. Kaleb L. Brookes Esmethine Research Crew, unit 3 Creature 210.24 Cibbith (SIH-bith) “The Esmethian Cow” As I first landed on Esmethine, I was surprised at how similar it was to Old Earth. The green grass sent a chill up my spine which made me sigh in a nostalgic daze. It was a clear day, and I remember thinking that it was surprisingly quiet. I remember this mostly because I was a creature researcher on a crew of 5 scientists, including myself, who all had a different proficiency in a different school of expertise. As the native guide led us across a lush field, I couldn’t help but notice certain warmth that was unusual for this hour, of which the sun had almost set. As I asked the guide, he replied with another gesture, requesting that we avoid yet another hill. We finally arrived at the camp where we were to be stationed, when I decided to ask the short guide what kind of wild life to be on the lookout for. He pointed back over to the field and said that I, much like nearly every other newcomer, missed the Cibbith. I looked back towards the field just as a head poke out of a hill. Its eyes stared back at me, with a bored look. I stood frozen as I suddenly realized that the hundreds of hills we walked past in the vast field were a herd of these Cibbith the guide had spoken of. As I pass my days learning of these fascinating mammals, I keep finding out new things that I never would have dreamed of learning on my own. The natives seem to feel comfortable with me because of what they call “perius” which from what I understand is an empathic aura. It must be why they constantly smile at me as I walk in to the fields. Today was also the day I was given my first taste of Cibbith milk, which is why I’ve named them “Esmethian Cows”. As it turns out, the natives milk these large mammals for their milk which is creamier than anything I’ve tasted in its raw form. I even started to envy the Cibbith calves for being able to drink from such delicious nectar for the first period of their life. From what I’ve been told, Cibbith carry their young in the womb for nearly an Esmethian year, which I make out to be almost one and a half old earth years. Then, the calves, which are born alone and very rarely as twins, stay close to their mother until they die. They stop drinking from their mother’s milk at the point when their teeth grow in and they can graze like the rest of the heard. If anyone were to watch them long enough, they’d also notice that the Cibbith’s coat changed with the seasons so it could blend in with the field it lives its whole life in. From what I’ve read in Esmethian lore, Cibbith rarely leave their first field, which would justify their low birth rate. At first, I thought that their birth rate might be a problem, but predators rarely attack these herbivores, for two reasons. Firstly, they’re always in a huge herd, and are therefore very hard to target, but I was lucky enough to see a seldom viewed hunt, and I’ve learned that Cibbith hide is remarkably tough. So much so, that the predator that came hoping for a meal was unable to pierce even an inch in to the mammal’s skin. No wonder the natives built their settlement right beside the Cibbith’s home. The docile creatures make an amazing defense.
I know. I just wanted to get people hyped for my epic creation. I already sketched, colored and scanned 2 pictures, plus sprited my creature. I'm don't feel like it's enough to post though. Maybe when I write up a bio.

this is AMAZEING! it allmost makes me want to deleat my own thread to takeaway my very little chace of takeing your rightful spot for best design. allmost. i really really want that free copy of the game, otherwise i would
Right, so I love the idea of a free game, but it's more important for me to have a design in the game.
KLB, I had no idea you were such a talented artist (Not just saying that cause you're my senior officer) Props to you for a fine submission. I like the style in which you have presented it too, not just "Here's my monster, this is what it does".
Wow. Another entry I would love to see winning! I really like how you did this, and I wish you good luck on the contest! =)
