you might wanna check up on the recent starbound blog post. the youtube video has some sweet info on how damage, armor, and weapons are getting tweaked.

namely, weapons from earlier tiers will be kept viable by armors boosting the attack power.

brace to rebalance and rework the stock around this.

looked at the video again, it's confirmed that it should end up being added to guns as well as "swords"

honestly i think it's time to rethink, and get ready for some impressive guns and swords that have awe inspiring altfires. i mean, swords already have it. charge weapons somewhat have it, but if they are speaking of what i think they are saying with basically having techs for weapons, oh man, this mod could more than benefit from it.

and to be honest, i feel that progression would still work for this mod. combat overhaul or not, there's something to be said about unlocking new toys. *embarrassingly looks at how much time he spent leveling up a character just to get a cosmetic for him with more sharp objects on it*
