Technically, crystals/prisms don't emit anything - They simply refract (or possibly absorb) the light already passing through it ;)

I am normally not a fan of wise words, but that one is a really good one.

And even then, the opinion is only as good as the information source. So make sure your sources are adequate.

you know. I remember a someone saying Avali would be weak to flames. and I have been thinking... a lot. Fire is merely hot air, which is not much different then a hot planet, hot to an avali. so fire is not less effective as being in a burning building. Air is a poor conductor of temperature

however, I think Water and Ice would prove far more effective as weapons against them then flames. why?
because Water and other liquids are super conductors of temperature. this is ironic, as if your were to somehow Freeze an avali in a block on ice, it would be very painful, since Ice is Ice at 32 degrees and lower, which is hazerdly hot for an avali who's max temp tolerance is -4 degrees at best.

of course, only in prime conditions. but water and Ice would be dreadfully more painful then Flames.

This is similar to what I do, and you've never been this hostile towards me. What has Fowler done to earn your ire?

Mmhmm. Hence a lot of people had a misconception early on that Avali would "melt" in water, because I said that even tepid water would be very dangerous to them (What I meant, was that water would saturate their feathers (bypassing their insulation) and conduct large volumes of heat directly into their body far more efficiently than even standing naked.).

There's no reason to think avali would be any more or less vulnerable to fire than any other feathered animal. their structural composition is very similar to terrestrial animals (organic compounds)
