Then you will have failed the test just like the next person. The problem is not that cinnamon is hot - the problem is that it is a dry, dessicating powder. Attempting to gulp it down unprepared will coat the inside of your mouth but fail to be swallowed, resulting in a lot of gagging and coughing.

Your bravado is why the test is so hilarious, the more blindly confident someone is, the more catastrophic their failure. "Oh of course I can swallow a mouthful of cinnamon you pussies!" <gulp> <gag, cough, splutter>

the most dangerous part of the test is that the coughing means you inhale quite a bit of cinnamon. Depending on lung conditions you could get pneumonia and/or damage your lung tissue.

Tori Belleci of Mythbusters actually beat the cinnamon challenge on air... It took a great deal of spit and a very slow time-consuming process to do it though. I doubt he's eager to do it again.

Unfortunately I have not had that experience as my mouth tends to... over moisten when I smell cinnamon as I used to put that into everything I baked and made to eat (I must say that I am a weird person when it comes down to what I find goes well like maple syrup and cheese)
also at the very end of the post I just giggled a lot. But yeah cinnamon for me tends to get into a damp grose gooey mess when I stick it in my mouth I have actually done that with a few friends when I saw then hacking two things were how can't you eat it like I did? second oh shit I should probably help him its practically the same with my homemade dark chocolate hot chocolate mix just spoonful of that and I just swallow although I will say that you don't really takes it that way (propper dark chocolate powder is fine as all fuck and expensive) also its a bad Idea to swallow it without taking a deep breath thats for practically everything dry to be honest
