Can someone tell me if this could theoretically could be done (if so that would mean you can have a practical... AI? no not an AI this is the MIND of a Genetic Lifeform hmm... well something like an AI)

Thats why I say a clone of yourself as you're literally the same person/avali

Possible? Yes. Legal? No. Practical? Not with the rarity of sync crystals. Fourth paragraph down from that link. Somebody must've had the same question way back.

Did someone just come up with a plot starter for "Avalitar"?

I'm just imagining an Avali acting as his own pack by using 4-6 remote-controlled Avali suits he is in full control of, including being able to sense what each one senses. It boggles the mind this idea... Although madness cannot be far away..

huh that would be interesting and wow guess they did :D
So a sync crystal would work also another idea popped into my head would it be possible to have a "voice in your head" like fellow avali chatting to you in a sort of comms communication system?
also could you technically do the same idea with the cloning on that avali comes out with a mind you get the full neural implant and then you have a basic biometric sync done and you are practically able to see what he sees hear what he hears and give some ability to move him about via the originals mind

Oh god did I just start something... if so EPIC
and well madness wouldn't really arise... unless something bad happened in the connection

    Out of character?

No, that's just a normal Avali scarf dyed red-orange.

    In character?

That scarf was a gift from a... close packmate. It's a durable modern redesign of the old traditional Avali desert wrap for protection during snowstorms. The color is part of his pack's heraldry. He takes it everywhere he goes, since it's one of the few things he has left of her and them.
Technically an "avatar" is a virtual representation of a real person. A remote physical representation of a real person is a separate idea and was given a separate name (by Robert Heinlein, I'm thinking, but don't quote me on that): the "waldo".

Of course, who would've paid money to see a movie called WALDO in three-dimensions?

The popular term that I've heard bandied around nowadays is "surrogate", but in the end the idea behind each of the three words is so similar they're starting to blend into one.

What would happen if an avali has multiple personality syndrome and controlls multple clone bodies of him or he self? would the personalities be projected onto those bodies?

No, I don't think so. Multiple personality disorders usually manifest in sequence, not simultaneously.

As for if an insane person would be allowed to control drones? Let's just say it's a special breed of stupid that we humans a certain large Western nation doesn't already have mental health checkups for owning and operating guns and vehicles.

Implying that the country you live in is the whole world and thus humanity as a whole is stupid for it.

In Canada at least you have to be capable of driving of a car and handling a gun responsibly.

I could see trying to control a pack of clones bringing an Avali towards madness, as such an act would probably be taken on one's own. If the Avali doing this were isolated, a lot of the psychological safeguards inherent in a typical pack would not exist, and it has already been noted that Avali who have been 'orphaned' often suffer from forms of madness.

I'm not sure how effective a single-mind pack of clones would be compared to a normal pack, as there is a benefit to multiple minds working together. Not to mention the binding process seems pretty efficient at syncing together, and who knows how much a single mind can process anyways.

You're right, that was a little bit presumptuous on my end. Fixed.

I guess to explain where I was coming from, the Avali seem likely to share America's stance on owning firearms being a right of the public. They're hunters and predators, so they certainly don't outlaw weapons. That's why the analogy slipped in.

But at the same time they're smart enough that they'll regulate them for safety purposes.

Reaper tells me his pack's name is "Grim", which makes him "Grim Reaper". I think he's going to look for a cloak and scythe sometime soon and run around scaring the humans. I'm half-tempted to let him.

Whaddya mean he's disappeared again?! Find him damnit! He's wearing red and white stripes and that silly hat and thick glasses. He can't be THAT hard to spot!

well If you could load those multiple personalities into bodys you would technically have a pack made of your mind

Personalities are not persons. A personality is a pattern of behavior, and is not capable of thought or reasoning.

So no, you couldn't do that, even if it were a good idea, even if it were allowed by what we know of Avali ethics on the subject of cloning and related issues. It's much simpler and safer to just give your drones some degree of autonomy, if it came to that.

Here ya go. Don't feel obliged to use it if you don't like it. I'm not an artist, I just wield GIMP's crop tools and filters with a steady hand.
