Earlier today, I had an idea for a fearsome boss; a master of electricity. Here’s a quick picture I made. It’s nothing pretty, but it’ll help me explain. The thing on the right is the underside of one of its tentacles. The dark stripe is an electrically conductive material. Description: The Arctic Hunter is the top predator of a mid-level, icy planet. It levitates above the ground without any visible means of support. That is because the planet has a powerful magnetic field, and this creature has evolved to exploit it using its own, opposing magnetic field. It can levitate because it has a special kind of muscle tissue throughout its body that generates enormous amounts of electricity (kind of like an electric eel). The electricity’s primary purpose is levitation, but it has a much deadlier, second purpose. It delivers a massive electrical shock to prey using the dark, conductive stripes on the undersides of its tentacles. Usually, a single jolt is enough to kill anything that it catches, but it has more than enough power to deliver several shocks in quick succession. Its skin is an excellent thermal insulator, so it doesn’t need any fur to survive comfortably. In addition to this, its skin is also extremely tough to ward off any creatures that foolishly try to attack it. Its size is approximately 6-10 times the size of the player. Attacks: - Tentacle swing: This one is self-explanatory. Given that its entire body is full of muscle, this attack is pretty dangerous. - Stab: The Hunter tries to impale the player with a fast strike. - Discharge (first version): The Hunter generates a jolt of electricity powerful enough to travel through the air to the player. Because the jolt has to pass through air, this attack isn’t too dangerous, but it can stun you for a moment. - Discharge (second version): It grabs you with its two large tentacles and delivers a massive shock directly to you, paralyzing you for a second or two. Since this attack doesn’t travel through the air, it is much more dangerous than the first version. - Body Slam: Self-explanatory. The Hunter might add a small discharge to this attack. - Whirl: If there is enough room, the Hunter will let its tentacles hang loosely while it rotates around at high speed. If a tentacle hits you, you will be electrocuted. Drops: - Conductive Material (multiple drops): This is used for modifying weapons to give them the ability to electrocute targets. It is more efficient than most conductive metals. - Tough Skin (multiple drops): It could be used to upgrade armor (or make some from scratch), or as a type of leather for furniture. - Hunter Spike (three to four drops): Put one of these on the end of a pole, and you have a pretty good spear. By the point you kill this creature, though, you will probably have better equipment, so it’s probably better to either use them as decoration or sell them. It is preferable to sell them because of their high price. Not many people can actually kill an Arctic Hunter. If anyone has any more ideas, please let me know.
This is a very nice idea. The only thing that I could add would be that perhaps with the attack Stab, the arctic hunter could perhaps inflict electrocution debuff.
sorry looking at it remind me a pokemon or it feels like it came form one thous YuGiOh cards that how I see it my view.
