The Anti-Grind Game, AKA Forcing Yourself to Chill Out

I considered a massive pig farm also. I have a mod that would make it so easy to get all of those truffles. I'd get bored if I had to pick each one up.

but as a small screencap for energy. You can see where it stopped. I had created a save file just for the purpose of this. I stopped here since I couldn't see how much I had exactly and I felt like it wouldn't end.

Because I've dedicated this file to gifting villagers more often i managed to get a date for the Flower Dance

I have no idea who Rosalynne will marry (I'm kind've leaning for Alex in this save?? Maybe idk) but i guess her first flower dance is with Shane!

Weirdly enough, the only time I've ever gotten a dance partner in year 1 is in my latest playthrough, which is no gifts outside of birthdays. So it is possible to dance with someone who has a birthday before it with no additional gifts as long as they get the birthday gift and are talked to most days (there may have been one delivery quest, but no more than that). I wouldn't have figured that since it took me forever to get hearts up in my first game.

 

I am considering starting a playthrough in which I only ship edibles I actually like IRL. That'd be:

Spring:

• Potatos
• Garlic
• Strawberries (+ Strawberry Jelly)
• Cauliflower
• Coffee bean (+ Coffee)
• Leek
• Spring onion

Summer:

• Melon
• Red cabbage (+ associated pickles)
• Wheat (+ Beer)
• Corn (+ Associated pickles)
• Hops (+ Pale ale)
• Hot pepper
• Tomato (+ associated pickles)
• Grape (+ wine)

Fall:

• Hazelnut

Animal products:

• Cow milk (+ cheese)
• Eggs

 

I've created a challenge which basically forces you to dump a lot of your items on gifts for villagers, making it harder to earn gold. In turn, this makes it harder the fix the bus, which you need to get to Sandy, who you must get to 10 hearts with by Year One to complete the challenge. You're also forced to search for artifacts and break geodes in order to get to Krobus, and to slay monsters and dig in the mines in order to get the Dwarf scrolls. Because you also need to have 10 hearts with Krobus and the Dwarf by the end of Year One to complete the challenge. Your time is also limited, seeing as a lot of it is going to be spent running around and looking for villagers without the use of a mod or the wiki to look up their schedules. You're also not allowed to use mods or go on the wiki to see the villagers' liked gifts!

This is a challenge where you have to get full affection with EVERYONE by the end of Year One. The only exceptions are Kent, who doesn't appear until Year Two, your children, and your coop and barn animals. You're also not required to get 10 hearts with all bachelors and bachelorettes if you don't like cheating. You just have to get to eight hearts with them, except for the one you marry, who has to be at 13 hearts by the end of Year One. I call it the Beloved Farmer Challenge. Right! I feel like it took ages to get hearts in my first play. My second play? Shane had 5 hearts bedore Summer. Lol

 

Good luck! It's going to be a tough one, especially with Krobus, the Dwarf, and Sandy!

 

Sandy and Krobus aren't too bad, their loved gifts are easily obtained, and if you get them loved gifts 2x per week and on their birthday and talk to them every day you have until fall 15 to unlock them.

The dwarf is the really hard one, you only have until summer 22 or you miss his birthday, and without that you must unlock him by fall 1 or you just don't have enough time.

It's much, much harder if you don't know what people love of course but I've had that memorized for a while now.

 

Since i have a break at work rn i can give a bit of an update!
It's summer now!! I blew close to 1,000 G on fertilizer and regret it lol
I could only afford to get 5 blueberry seeds and 4 pepper seeds.
Thank god i had 9 melon seed and a star fruit seed from the museum

 

Sandy was the last for me to get to 10 on my first save, mainly because it took a while to open the desert and then I consistently forgot to go there and also bring her anything, lol. I know her loves and I had them, just unfortunately at home instead of in my Skull Cavern chest where they should've been. Lessons for next time.

 

I feel like Krobus is always my last one, because I can never talk to him beyond the first meeting. I dunno if there's something wrong with my game (not sure why there would be, I haven't modded anything relating to his dialogue) but whenever I walk up to him, it takes me straight to the shop menu. I've never had a conversation with Krobus in any of my four saves. So I can only gift him to get hearts up, and for that I'm limited to twice a week and only after I unlock the sewer.
